[Check out the amazing things this Swiss airline pilot has done. I think this could have a real military application. For example, when you drop troops by parachute, they need to be over the target, thereby making the plane vulnerable to anti-aircraft fire.
But, if the men could be dropped some distance away, while having quite a good forward speed, the plane could be safely out of range and a small team of men could go shooting forward at high speed, covering many kilometres before hitting the ground. This would be great stuff for Special Forces operations. Jan]
