[Sigh! More of the same. Just when you think the MDC is actually going to amount to anything, they do this.

Both Napoleon and Prince Eugene of Austria said that meetings are just an excuse to do nothing! How right they were. That’s the MDC’s modus operandi – plenty of talk and no energy left to actually do anything with.

I sent this to an Afrikaans friend of mine who was talking hopefully about the possibility of whites from S.Africa moving to a Post-Mugabe Zimbabwe to rather live under MDC rule than ANC rule. Even my other Rhodesian school chum, Sean, was talking about whites migrating NORTH in the event that S.Africa flunks out under ANC rule.

Anyway, my Afrikaans friend was hoping the MDC could do something firm this winter. So I had to send him the sad news.

I remarked to him that sometimes when I watch the MDC I can’t help but think that white people are needed to actually break this impasse. Just a few key white people, who are movers and shakers in the MDC ranks, could maybe break this completely wussy approach to Mugabe.

I’ve seen all this talk, talk nonsense when I dealt with the CZA Zimbabweans. I fedup with it then. I am even more fedup with it now. But then again… the MDC is only as bullish as its CIA and MI6 handlers allow it to be… so it may be a question of wusses leading wusses. They have plenty of money, and lots of time to fiddle while Zimbabwe burns (and while Mugabe laughs up his sleeve at them all). This is so flipping frustrating to watch.

A few comments, while I’m rolling my eyes, reading this rubbish below. The party is putting together a package that “Mugabe will find very hard to resist”. What the hell is this? Are they throwing him a party? Will there be strippers present? I find this kind of talk completely ridiculous. Basically, they’re kissing Mugabe’s ass – that’s all there is to it – and they’re hoping if they kiss his backside for long enough that maybe, he will be humoured enough to give them something! How delightful!!

And “The package will determine Zanu PF™s sincerity in moving the country forward.” You need a PACKAGE to do that? What are they? Morons or Complete Morons? Mugabe’s sincerity = 0. You don’t need any “package” to tell you that.

Where on earth do they find these idiots? Are these people suffering from Alzheimers disease? Are they complete born again fools every day of their lives? I can’t believe that 6 years of Mugabe’s lies have taught these people *NOTHING*. They have not learned so much as one lesson in all this time. GRRRRrrrrr…

Oh, and by the way, in case you did not hear this out of my mouth before: All this fancy intellectual-sounding hogwash about “packages”, etc will only WASTE TIME and achive BUGGER ALL! When its all finished and done, the MDC will be sitting in the same spot they are in today – except that they will have needlessly and stupidly wasted their energy and much of their time. Jan]

Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai™s diplomatic charm offensive to drum up support appears to have temporarily put a planned “cold winter of resistance” on the back burner in favour of international intervention to help end Zimbabwe™s crisis. Sources in London say Tsvangirai told supporters in the British capital on Saturday that the purpose of the MDC struggle was “not to unlawfully overthrow President Mugabe but to crank up pressure on his government and enable fundamental negotiations on constitutional matters leading to free and fair elections”. Tsvangirai said any protests against government would be based on non-violence and lawful resistance. Zimbabweans should therefore not be misled to think that the party wants an unlawful removal of Mugabe, he said. The MDC appears to have softened its stance adopted at its national congress in March where Tsvangirai promised to lead protests to “remove Mugabe”. Most MDC supporters were bracing for a showdown with government over deteriorating living standards and a collapsing economy blamed largely on President Mugabe™s ruling Zanu PF party. But indications are that hard-pressed Zimbabweans will have to wait a little longer before the “cold winter of resistance” begins. Party insiders told the Zimbabwe Independent this week that the MDC was putting together an engagement package that Mugabe will find “very hard to resist”. The package will determine Zanu PF™s sincerity in moving the country forward.
