[Last night I played some instrumental music for my mother from a DVD I have called The Best of Instrumental. There were two tunes (not from Africa), but which I remember often hearing when I was a kid. And whenever I hear those tunes (which are almost never played on S.African radio stations), it immediately just takes me back in time to when I was a kid growing up in Rhodesia.

My mother then remarked, as she has done many times, “Rhodesia will *NEVER DIE*”. She says that the *SPIRIT* of us Rhodesians is just too strong. Defeat… and being run out of that country… never broke our spirit. We are now spread across the world… and yet, thanks especially to Robert Mugabe… we are now closer and more united than ever. We all agree, its too bad we never killed him when we had the chance. It was the worst mistake we ever made.

But neither time, nor distance has dimmed our memories. In fact, if nothing else, it just proves how very right we were.

The one thing that lives on… is our love and pride in what we and our forefathers carved out of the midst of the African continent.

And the Rhodesian spirit lives on… and it may in fact be becoming stronger too – especially as we see the complete ruins which now lie there. We did not create that. That was Mugabe’s handi-work.

Anyhow, Mum religiously reads the Rhodesian publications which I subscribe to – as do I. And Rhodesia lives on. Zimbabwe is almost dead, but Rhodesia lives.

A regular reader on my website, an Afrikaner living in the USA sent me some photos of his kids… in their little baseball uniforms… Yep… like Afrikaner kids in the USA!!! I am just waiting for more details before I post the photos.

Here in S.Africa, the ANC would also like to see the whites here, have their spirits crushed to death. And no doubt, many have had their spirits crushed. The Afrikaner culture is also too strong to be destroyed by the new order.

You know… we Whites in Africa may not have had a history of thousands of years (Rhodesia only had 90 years)… but in that time, there was enough spirit and culture which was built up which I think *CANNOT* be killed. The mere fact that Rhodesians survived 25 years of total defeat in the sense of losing their country and 99% of them fleeing from it… tells me that in our hearts we will *NEVER* be defeated. The unadulterated pride in what we achieved against all the odds constantly feeds our souls.

The Boers have a history and culture which is even deeper. 350 years of Afrikaner culture and history cannot be wished away by the ANC. The Boers have fought and struggled plenty for this country… and only a fool would think that this is the end of the line for them.

In historical terms, I think that we whites in Africa have been clobbered nicely… but it did not kill us. And that which does not kill you only makes you stronger. I think… that even if it takes a hundred years or longer… like the Jews… we will return and we will play a role in the future of Africa… It took the Jews 2000 years. It won’t take us that long. Jan]
