[A small portion of the many cars stolen in S.Africa have been recovered. I wonder how soon it will be before the criminals get out on some legal loop hole? Jan] Welkom – Stolen cars valued at R2.5m were recovered in the northern Free State during April, police said on Tuesday. “We regard this as a breakthrough as far as theft of vehicles is concerned,” said assistant commissioner Lerato Molale. “We will never allow northern Free State to be a thoroughfare for vehicle thieves.” A total of 48 cars were recovered, of which 32 were reported stolen in the northern Free State, Molale said. The remaining 16 were stolen elsewhere and dumped in the province. The vehicle identification section found the cars in various places, and will investigate the cases. “Arrests are imminent,” said Molale. Source: News24.Com |
