Mpumalanga police are investigating a murder case after a man believed to be in his twenties died in hospital from head injuries, a spokesperson said.
“The man was in a Standerton hospital for a month, before his death on Monday,” said spokesperson Dimple Nkosi on Wednesday.
“He was found unconscious on a street by community members, with head wounds, and then taken to the hospital.”
When he died, police were called in and a murder case was opened.
“It seems as if he was beaten, but we are not sure how or with what.”
Police did not know his identity or where he was from.
Nkosi appealed to anyone with missing relatives to contact their nearest police station. – Sapa
