News – South Africa: COPE suggests international poll observers

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

The international community should consider sending observers to South Africa to determine whether next year’s general election was free and fair, newly announced president of the Congress of the People, Mosioua Lekota, said on Tuesday.

Addressing delegates at the closing session of Cope’s founding conference in Bloemfontein, he also announced that the party would launch its election manifesto in mid-January next year.

He said he was raising the issue of the polls because, for the first time since the 1994 elections, many people in South Africa and abroad were concerned about the recent tone of political campaigning.

“We call on all political parties to make a declaration to the nation that they will respect the constitutional right of every South African to engage in free political activity,” he said.

Parties should respect each others’ right to canvass, and should agree that campaign rhetoric should “in no way” lead to intolerance or abuse of others.

“We also urge the international world to keep a close watch in this regard so as to make a determination regarding international observation of our campaign and elections.

“Only then will the international community be able to declare reliably whether the elections were free and fair.”

Cope has complained repeatedly that the ANC has interfered with its meetings, and also claimed that voters in recent municipal by-elections were intimidated.
