Two security guards were wounded in a foiled robbery at a shopping centre at the corner of Hendrick Potgieter and Nick Diedricks Avenues in Roodepoort on Monday.
ER24 Spokesperson Riana Beech said three men tried to rob a Dischem shop when the alarm went off. Security personnel were alerted and a shoot-out ensued.
Beech said two guards and one of the robbers were wounded.
She said all three were taken to the nearest hospital and were been treated for gunshot wounds. – Sapa
