One person was killed and three others seriously wounded when a vehicle was ambushed in northern KwaZulu-Natal, police said on Friday.
Captain Charmaine Struwig said the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon but was only reported on Thursday.
“The Kombi had 15 occupants inside. The vehicle was headed towards Magangangozi when shots were fired at the vehicle,” she said.
A 75-year-old man, Mphikeleli Nkala, died at the scene while three other occupants were seriously wounded.
“We are investigating the possibility that the incident may have been linked to an ongoing land dispute issue in the area,” she said.
