I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

A Reservoir Hills teacher is so traumatised after being robbed and watching her brother burnt with an iron that she is considering leaving the country.
Even though the incident happened more than a year ago, Aradmana Desai said she had not recovered from it and no longer felt safe living in South Africa.
She was testifying in the Durban High Court on Wednesday during the trial of Vusi Ndlovu, 20, and Mondli Gasa, 25.
‘He plugged it into the socket and began burning my brother’ |
The two men are currently standing trial for a housebreaking at Desai’s home and subsequent murder of a policeman.
Gavin Attlee of the Sydenham SAPS was shot when he responded to the housebreaking at Desai’s home.
He later died as a result of his injuries.
Ndlovu and Gasa have been charged with murder, housebreaking with the intent to rob, and robbery with aggravating circumstances.
Desai told the court she was woken in the early hours of the morning in August last year when the alarm went off.
She got out of bed and looked around, but noticing nothing suspicious, returned to her room.
It was only when her brother knocked on her bedroom door and told her they were being robbed that she realised there were intruders in the house.
Desai said she saw two or three people armed with firearms, but could not identity them because they were wearing balaclavas.
The soft-spoken Grade 6 teacher became emotional when she recalled how she witnessed her brother being assaulted by the intruders.
“One of them came into the room with an iron. He plugged it into the socket and began burning my brother.
“My brother was screaming in pain while I had to watch,” she said.
She was told that if she screamed, she, too, would be burnt with the iron.
Desai was tied and gagged while her brother was taken to another part of the house.
“After a while I heard gunshots. I was petrified because I thought they had shot my brother,” she said.
It was only later when her brother came to get her out of the room that she realised he was not the one who was shot.
Desai said she later learnt that a policeman had been shot.
When asked how the incident had affected her life, Desai said she was so traumatised she could not go to work for a month.
She said despite being in counselling for at least two months, she had still not recovered from the incident.
Desai said she did not want to remain in South Africa because she felt unsafe here.
Her jewellery and cellphone were also taken during the robbery.
The trial continues today (Thursday).
