A businessman died on arrival in hospital after his son found him with a gunshot wound to his chest at his farm store in Evander near Secunda on Friday morning, Mpumalanga police said.
The man’s son rushed him to hospital after finding him bleeding profusely at 5am, said Superintendent Abie Khoabane.
The businessman’s attackers gained entry to the store by breaking down a door while he was sleeping inside.
Nothing was taken but the gunmen apparently drank whisky before fleeing the scene, Khoabane said.
No arrests have been made. – Sapa
