[The following is an announcement in an internal email of the SABC to its staff. I refer to the SABC as “The Mouth of the ANC”. It appears two black radio presenters have been up to no good and have been caught. Jan] SABC Lesedi FM Presenters Arrested Johannesburg, 07 December 2006: The SABC today announced that Lesedi FM radio presenters Thuso Motaung and Mmamontha Motaung have been arrested for allegedly conducting illegal activities against the SABC. The investigation, which at various points involved the SABCs internal forensic unit as well as the commercial crime unit of the police, took more than a year to complete due to the complexity of the issues involved. SABC Spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago said: (152)Without pre-judging the outcome of this specific case, the SABC would like to send a clear message of zero tolerance on corruption, in line with our policies and the country-wide campaign to root out the evil of corruption internally and in the broader society. (152)At this stage, the SABC cannot divulge any information on the case and we would like to allow all legal due processes to take place as the matter is sub judice and already in the hands of our courts, said Kganyago.
