[Yesterday I published an item which is doing the rounds saying that if you are at an ATM and you type in your pin number backwards, that it will alert the Police. I’m afraid, some checking up reveals it is a hoax. A regular reader checked up with ABSA, our largest bank and they state categorically that this is a hoax. Jan]

Manishka Pursotham and I have received a plethora of phone calls, even from the USA querying this email.

1) Manishka merely forwarded the email, it did not originate from her.
2) I commented that I had never heard of it before. I am not in charge of any FRAUD BUST operation.

We would appreciate it if you could stop the chain if it returns to you again.
