[Here you see a huge problem. There is a theory that is well established, nay, proven, in the Western world that the Middle Class is the bulwark of society. The White Liberals in Africa (as well as their buddies in the CIA, etc) all believed that if they created a BLACK MIDDLE CLASS in Africa that it would carry out the same function as the White middle class – namely, it would hold society together and provide a bulwark against communism and dictatorship. The theory is that since the black middle class now has something to fight for, it will stand and fight. WRONG! Am I the only one who has noticed that this WILL NOT BE THE CASE? Shall I say what nobody else has dared saying? THE BLACK MIDDLE CLASS IN AFRICA IS A COMPLETE FAILURE!!! In Zimbabwe, more than 300,000 black professionals fled the country and live in London alone. Those are very old figures and I’m sure the current numbers are much higher. The blacks with BRAINS, the blacks who supposedly have something to contribute… also are downright spineless cowards and THEY RUN FIRST. The guy who wrote below is clearly one of these valued black intellectuals, of the kind that Liberals hoped would save Africa but instead… he will be running the fastest. NON-WHITES are leaving this country already. I’ve heard of many young coloureds who are fleeing. This makes me feel that the BULWARK will in the end actually be the silly old whites. But I think we should roll up our sleeves and prepare to fight when Communism comes here. We must *NOT* be the same COWARDS that the Black Middle Class were. We must at least have the balls to make a stand. Jan] Dear Editor, In my humble opinion, we really are in somewhat of a pickle as a country now. Not only has Zuma gotten off the hook once more, but also the failed trial has set him well on his way to being our next president – via the path of ‘the martyr’. I remember whilst still at university, when one had all the time in the world to discuss world issues and all that lies above and below at leisure, sitting sunning myself on the steps of the Aula and flippantly stating that if he ever became president of this country I would immigrate. Well, looks like I better get packing, statements made in jest…or not. Well it’s not like we have a better option. Phumzile anyone?
