[I heard a news story on Khaya FM this morning which made me chuckle.

Apparently train surfing is rapidly becoming popular in S.Africa and several kids have been killed recently while trying this.

So then it was proposed that what kids need at school is a course on “Safety” … duh…

I was sitting and wondering if this is really a good idea. If a teenager is so screwed that he doesn’t care about his own life, and is prepared to throw it away on a whim, maybe nature is trying to tell us something. Maybe we should let Darwinism take its course and maybe it is best that he be removed from the gene pool by his own hand at the soonest.

I really think his IQ must be way too low if he cannot think about his own safety. Then that same person should maybe rather not grow up and have children of his own.

What they did not say was whether train surfing is related to drug-taking. There has been an incredible increase in drug-taking of late especially with the “Tik” drug.

When I was a kid, I don’t recall any of the other boys my age doing stupid, needless life-threatening things. And it makes me wonder: If we need courses on personal safety, then where will it end? Will we need courses on “How to eat your food”, and “Learning how to breathe?” Jan]
