[One reader sent his thoughts on a strategic place Whites should head for in the event of an attack. I think it is good to throw such ideas around. My only critique would be that ultimately, Whites need to find some infrastructure – e.g. a town, or harbour or airport they can capture, and I don’t know if that is available at this location.

I did state in my book that if Whites try to get their own country, that we should aim for at least one reasonably large city, with a port and an airport. We will be needing communications with the rest of the world.

I do like his idea of having our backs to the sea. I definitely think that seizing some territory along the coastline is a good idea. Anyway, here are his thoughts, complete with a Google map of the West coast of S.Africa. Cape Town is in the bottom left. Jan]

This is a sensitive matter, but I will give you a brief rundown of what will happen (in my opinion) and what should happen – pure military tactics.

What would happen:
All English speaking whites will do their level best to get out of the country, much like what happened in Zim. England will have them, more than likely. The majority of the Afrikaners will flee towards Orania, that has no military and is exceptionally badly situated to deal with any kind of offensive. Don’t you find it strange that all the SANDF Rooivalk gunships are stationed in Bloemfontein? Orania will not be able to help the rest of the Afrikaners for lack of infrastructure.

What Should happen:
Afrikaners and English should all flee to the West coast. The region of choice would be situated between Spoeg Rivier Baai to Radyn and Somnaas Baai to Soebatsfontein as you can see in the attached image. This image is protected by pretty serious mountains to the East. One of the old SAW’s obstacles during the border ware, was logistics – and they had a much more capable force than the SANDF. The SANDF physically cannot maintain a prolonged deployment to this area because of the mountains that are in the way. Sure the Air force can make it, but they will run out of fuel pretty fast, and the war in Iraq has proved that “fast movers” are not capable of targeting a widely despersed group of individuals properly. This could be a safe region. It offers a lot of natural harbours and plenty opportunities for the green thumbs in the Boer community to start a propserous Agricultural industry.
