[A friend of mine from overseas was commenting on my little piece about Eugene Terblanche. He wrote and said that it appears to him, that the Afrikaners are by no means finished.

I replied and said to him: They are not finished.

They’re down. They’ve taken a beating. They’ve been slapped around by the world and the blacks. But I think they are recovering from all the hits they’ve been taking.

For example, the whole White Guilt thing, is starting to wear thin – on ALL WHITES. Whites are starting to regain some of that moral high ground. Whites are not always going to be content to just sit around and take a tongue-lashing from the ANC. The guilt thing will not hold up forever.

We’ve already had 11 years of miserable ANC rule. The ANC is no mystery to anyone any more. Most Whites think that many of our Government Ministers are idiots. I don’t think that is an overstatement at all.

Also, while Eugene Terblanche is very passionate and very loud, one must NOT think he is the ONLY AFRIKANER who feels that strongly. NEVER imagine that Eugene Terblanche is the leader of the Afrikaners. There are plenty of talented Afrikaners out there who are not as well known as him. There are quite a few, who are very quiet, much more intelligent, and just as passionate. They just don’t go around advertising it.

I have always maintained that one has never seen what White people in S.Africa are truly capable of if they really wanted to. Just remember that in 1900, the Afrikaners, with an adhoc army of 60,000 men took on the whole British Empire and fought against them for 3 years. The British Empire had to bring 250,000 troops to defeat them. It required that British, Australian and other troops to travel across the oceans to come here to defeat the Boers in the two countries which they founded, and owned.

If Whites today had that kind of spirit, we could raise an army of 300,000 or more.

As I told my friend, make no mistake, Whites might only make up 14% of this country, but if they put their hearts, minds and spirits into it, I see absolutely no reason why they couldn’t walk away with control of 25% or 30% of the land area of this country. The only thing that would stop them is if the Western world gave money and arms to the ANC.

Let me tell you that we’ve not really seen Whites putting their backs into a struggle, in the way they did in the Boer war. If anyone imagines that the 1980’s represents the sum total of White military power and will then they don’t know what they’re talking about. Whites were holding back. Whites were NOT intent on ALL OUT warfare against the blacks. If they had wanted to, they could have killed millions of blacks – but they didn’t.

The biggest problem Whites in Africa face, is not Blacks, but WHITE PEOPLE IN THE FIRST WORLD WHO WILL TRIP US UP. Rhodesia and South Africa were brought down, not by the Soviets or China, but by Britain and America strong-arming us, putting sanctions on us, etc – preventing us from acquiring what we needed in order to defend ourselves.

If Whites in Africa were left alone, to fend for themselves, and the world at least allowed us to engage in free trade, we could carve out a fully fledged country for ourselves right here inside S.Africa. Even if all of Africa ganged up, on the ANC side. The Whites alone (without any non-white allies) could seize and successfully hold, a portion of this country. Of that I have absolutely no doubt. But if we had an ally or two, we could, obviously do even better.

Eugene Terblanche may in some ways, represent the “bottoming out” of the Afrikaner. If the blacks try to slap the Afrikaners around more, they may find that all they do is make the Afrikaners STRONGER.

What Whites need is spirit. It might take a long time. But I also doubt that Whites will just disappear. I doubt that Afrikaner aspirations will vanish. 50 or 100 years from now, I bet the Afrikaners will still want their own country. And its not just rural Terblanche types either who just want this. There are others, much more highly educated, who will stand their ground and who will be many times more dangerous than Eugene Terblanche.

We have not yet seen the last of Afrikaner aspirations in S.Africa.
