[My good friend, Dr Chris Jordaan, who is a geostrategic analyst by profession, phoned me today. He is recovering from a serious operation. A year ago, he nearly died. He had a most horrible experience when several people close to him died in a mere matter of months. He then later also became very ill and had to have a heart bypass operation.

He phoned me to ask about the MDC. He was reading news reports about the MDC, and noticed references to Mugabe gloating over the MDC’s situation, etc. From the various news reports, Dr Jordaan was quite convinced that CIO operatives were inside the MDC breaking up its unity from within.

He asked me how I felt about this? I agree unanimously, reminding him that 2-3 years ago, black Zimbabweans I knew, had spoken about top people actually secretly selling out to Mugabe. Now those same people are going against Tsvangirai.

Dr Jordaan said that Mugabe knows how to infiltrate and mess up the unity in an organisation and he is sure Mugabe has done that with the MDC. I concurred.

I said to him it is inconceivable, that Mugabe would leave the MDC alone and not heavily infiltrate them with agents.

Dr Jordaan felt that the real problem here is the destruction of Morgan Tsvangirai. His remarks to me were: That from here onwards, things will just get worse for the MDC.

I definitely think he is right.

Getting Morgan Tsvangirai kicked out of his own party, and then getting the “new MDC” to be “friendlier to Zanu(PF)” would suit Mugabe down to the ground.

I am very sad at this, because Mugabe will not be beaten, except when people go directly against him. But are there any Zimbabweans out there with the backbone to actually do this? So sad really. Jan]
