The Police were sent in to remove illegal black residents from blocks of flats on the corner of Kapteijn and Twist streets in Hillbrow.

Illegal black residents are removed by municipal workers in red overalls known colloquially as “red ants”. Below is a photo of the “red ants”.

But as the Police and Red Ants moved in the black residents had placed tyres (which they intended setting on fire) at the entrance. They also had 25 litres of petrol in the hallway. But they never got a chance to start any fires.

The residents did however throw bottles, rocks and also started shooting at the Police. The Police returned fire.

The Police had to smash in door after door to get the residents out.

In the photo below we see a black Policeman in a bulletproof vest firing at blacks in the apartment building with a four-ten shotgun.
