Absolom Mashamba”s deportation from the UK to Harare will carry on after it was put on hold briefly for a review, BBC News reports. A Home Office spokeswoman says she cannot comment on any individual case. (Aren”t they all? – “dev) -00- In a related article, SW Radio Africa reports that there is pressure on British Airways to stop carrying failed Zimbabwe asylum seekers. The Network of Detained Zimbabweans is planning to hold pickets at all BA offices in the UK everyday at 12:30pm. -00- MDC Leader, Morgan Tsvangarai, has recommended Zimbabwe”s expulsion from the UNHCHR (United Nations High Commission for Human Rights) in the aftermath of the ongoing Operation Murambatsvina, whilst the African Union envoy, Tom Bahare Nyaduga, is stranded in Harare having failed since Friday to get the government to sanction his assessment of the “clean-up” operation. UPDATE – The Zimbabwe government has today (Wednesday) demanded the withdrawal of the AU Envoy, and told them to follow “proper procedures”… -00- To finish on a more positive note, the Canadian Embassy yesterday donated $62 million towards the National Pastors” Conference to assist victims of the ongoing “clean-up” operation that has seen thousands of families being displaced after “illegal” structures were demolished.
