[Life is good for corrupt African leaders… They steal the money… then you wonder why the continent never moves forward… because the money is sitting in Swiss Bank Accounts… while the blacks starve… Typical Africa… Jan] Son of Nigerian leader Abacha arrested in Germany Swiss authorities have been tracking bank accounts linked to Abacha since the Nigerian government accused him of looting more than US$2.2 billion from state coffers when he ruled the African country from 1993 until his death in June 1998. A state attorney spokesman said Abacha was being held in nearby Duesseldorf for possible extradition to Switzerland. The Swiss government said last August it had found nearly US$500 million of “criminal origin” in Swiss accounts connected with the older Abacha and was ready to return the money to Nigeria.
