Lydenberg – Men dressed as security firm personnel pulled off a daring robbery on Wednesday and made off with a large amount of cash from the Absa bank in Lydenberg. Police captain Benjamin Bhembe said the robbers came to the bank dressed in the uniform of the security company. They dropped off a trunk supposedly containing cash, and collected another trunk full of money. He said the bank staff were not suspicious because they were expecting a delivery and the impersonators knew the pin number to the door. They only became suspicious when they opened the trunk and found paper instead of money, said Bhembe. Bhembe said police were still consulting with the security company.
