A friend told me President Zuma visited Orania the other day and I saw film footage of him on TV saying what he discussed. It is clear that ever since Julius Malema visited Orania that this little outpost of Afrikaners is really bothering the ANC.
I think Orania is the most brilliant “political” move made by Afrikaners – not that it was intended to be “political”. But its EXISTENCE… says something. Its mere existence here since 1994… is a NUISANCE. It is small but it stands out like a sore thumb. (I must still post more of my Orania photos).
Orania is brilliant… because it shows whites DOING instead of TALKING. And this little outpost… is worth more than months worth of negotiations.
Its existence and its concept bothers the ANC a LOT. It is like a THORN in their side. This tiny little place… is a BIG THORN. Of course I think Afrikaners must rally around Orania and DEFEND ITS RIGHT TO EXIST.
When I was there, I was told that Orania was really an experiment that was thought out and written about in the 1960’s. Professor Carel Boshoff explained the rationale back then. And part of the experiment is to deliberately seek out the area with the LOWEST POPULATION DENSITY IN SOUTH AFRICA. Orania is in the lowest population density area. It is a deliberate experiment to create a select community in an isolated area where contact with other areas is reduced to the maximum and it was written about decades ago. Orania is not a new concept. It is an old concept… but it was only more recently that people went ahead with this EXPERIMENT.
Now keep in mind, many experiments in social engineering have been done over the centuries. Hitler was not the first, nor will he be the last to try some kind of social engineering. He was just brutal about it – but people try experiments all the time.
Winston Churchill referred to the USA as AN EXPERIMENT IN DEMOCRACY. The USA itself is an experiment… that became very successful (because the people based it on sane principles… among them: Free Market economics).
Orania is a specific experiment too in drawing together a group of people who are the same, and keeping them together.
The problem with Orania is that even though it is a small experiment… its success or failure could have enormous implications. For the ANC, the biggest problem is that: ORANIA MIGHT WORK!!!
Orania is already working… I’ve seen that with my own eyes. The problem is… if Orania suddenly found itself with 500,000 people… What if 3 million Afrikaners like what is happening and want to emulate the concept more and more? The problem is… Orania #1 might lead to Orania #2, #3, etc… AND THAT MUST SCARE THE LIVING HELL OUT OF THE ANC.
The SUCCESS of Orania is the problem. According to President Zuma, he has been “engaging” with Orania for quite a time and this engagement will continue.
I think Julius Malema and Zuma are seriously worried about Orania and they want this thing watered down and changed. This close-knit grouping of a few hundred Afrikaners… IS SCARING THE ANC BIG TIME. This tiny little enclave with a few whites… working together… independent of blacks… doing their own thing… IS A SERIOUS, SERIOUS THREAT IN THE ANC’S EYES!
They will want this thing shut down and gone. But how to do it? They might try various lures and baits to try to see if they can destroy this thing or modify it so as to render it ineffective or pervert it into something else.
Orania is a small placee… but its IMPLICATIONS ARE ABSOLUTELY ENORMOUS… ENORMOUS BEYOND BELIEF. It bucks the rules… and it is surviving.
I mentioned to my Liberal friend that the Mass Media laughed at Orania and pooh poohed them… and for years, Orania was mentioned only in the most MOCKING TERMS… but Orania continues… and it is becoming less of a joke as these whites are PROVING THAT WHITES IN AFRICA CAN SURVIVE WITHOUT BLACK LABOUR.
These whites, in one stroke, are undercutting, and ripping the carpet out from the entire black racial, economic argument. They are showing that blacks ARE NOT NECESSARY FOR WHITE SURVIVAL AND SUCCESS IN AFRICA. If Whites here, live in their own villages and towns… the “lazy” whites… SURVIVE TOTALLY. The lazy whites can create an underclass of blue collar workers… and can do ALL their own labour… without ever turning to any blacks for any help.
In theory, we knew all along this was doable… but Orania is proving that whites actually can have the will power to make it happen.
Orania is so small and vulnerable… but the results of this experiment are incredible beyond belief because, if White Africans coupled with foreigners realise that blacks are nothing more than parasites with little or no real VALUE… the implications for blacks are incredibly shocking.
The blacks… almost instantly… BECOME IRRELEVANT.
And blacks are being proven irrelevant in other ways already… on another front… by WHITE LIBERALS… running big business. They too… are proving, through increasing efficiency… that COSATU… and the whole black labour movement are: TOTALLY IRRELEVANT.
On TWO FRONTS… blacks are being shown to HAVE NO ECONOMIC VALUE. (This is almost a throw-back to BEFORE COLONIALISM). We are taking things back to BEFORE the 1880s… The implications of this for BLACKS is more shocking than you can think. The world is only courting blacks… because they perceive them to have a value. The moment you prove that they are nothing but worthless parasites of MINIMAL value at best… you have completely undermined every argument in favour of negotiating with and dealing with blacks in any way… either internationally or locally.
Consider for example, the kind of thinking Orania could lead whites to:-
Imagine an automated country, with no black labour whatsoever – and whites doing manual labour as well as purchasing (or building) labour-saving machinery. It runs efficiently… runs 365 days a year (with NO STRIKES)… is reliable… produces a proper business output… without: SOCIAL COSTS… WITHOUT STRIKES.. WITHOUT BLACKS BLACKMAILING BUSINESS. The power exists… to create such a thing. And all it will need are a few BUSINESSMEN… to pump money into this… and then blacks are TOTALLY SIDELINED.
That is why the ANC keeps going back to Orania. Orania is like an Alfred Hitchcock movie FOR BLACKS. It is like their worst nightmare come true, and the longer they leave it, the larger it grows (because it is growing)… the more it succeeds… the scarier its implications become.
COSATU is at this time screaming for a 100% “command economy” (translation: TOTAL COMMUNISM). But Orania’s mere existence undermines every argument COSATU and the ANC stand for.
However… I think the damage has been done. Even if Orania were to disappear TOMORROW… Orania has run for enough years and proven enough… and provided enough data to show that Afrikaners can mimic what the USA did. In essence, Orania is America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand… but in Africa. That’s all. And Orania has proven that if Afrikaners have the WILL POWER… THEY CAN MIMIC EXACTLY WHAT WAS DONE IN THOSE COUNTRIES WHICH MADE THEM ALL EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL. The Afrikaner is not so LAZY… as to actually NEED BLACKS. The Afrikaner can look 100% after himself like the Americans, Australians or Germans do. The proof is there. The experiment has worked. The experiment can be shut down tomorrow and its already provided the data it was supposed to provide.
The true danger of Orania is not tomorrow… nor next year… but 30 years from now. I did a quick calculation some time back… at its current growth-rate, by 2030, Orania will be a sizeable town. I can’t remember what I came up with, but I think it was something like 60,000 people. If it keeps on GROWING… it presents a problem to the ANC.
And that is why, AT A PRESIDENTIAL LEVEL… Orania is being watched. That is why Julius Malema visited it.
Of course, Afrikaners must, AT ALL COSTS… preserve Orania. And Orania must be kept. But the ANC, as sure as night follows day, is not liking this at all.
As my Liberal friend said: Orania could be used as a model for success for looking at how COMMUNITIES OF THE SAME PEOPLE CAN WORK TOGETHER SUCCESSFULLY.
For example, Orania could be a model for: English-speaking Whites, Indians, Coloureds, even blacks themselves – IF THEY WANTED TO. And in that sense Orania could be a positive.
But the ANC will not evaluate it from a positive point of view. They are extremely racist and their biggest concern is: WHITE SUCCESS – ESPECIALLY WHITE AFRIKANER SUCCESS. This drives them nuts. And for the ANC, whenever WHITES SUCCEED… THOSE WHITES MUST BE KICKED DOWN… DESTROYED AND THEIR WORK MUST BE FLATTENED TO THE GROUND AND WIPED OUT. And the ANC will try, by all overt and covert means, and by all manner of intellectual tricks and rules to quietly undermine Orania. Orania is succeeding far too much, and the ANC cannot allow this to continue indefinitely.
