Local residents said pick-ups mounted with speakers summoning the people to watch the beheaded bodies could be seen crisscrossing in the town.

Fighters of al Shabaab and local herders on Friday afternoon clashed in Lant Buro village just outside of Afgoye, according to the locals.

They added that the group had accused the herders of destabilizing the stability and the security in parts of Lower Shabelle region in southern Somalia and trying to fight against what they called the Islamic administration in region.

But, locals said that the armed herders refused to heed al Shabaab order of giving some of their domestic animals which most of them died of thirst and hunger after severe drought hit parts of the country including Lower Shabelle region.

During the confrontation on Friday, at least one militant leader was confirmed dead and two others injured, according to the witness.

He spelled out that fighters seized at least 5 persons two wounded herders accused of taking part in the clash. The inured were beheaded today, he said.

The pick-ups mounted with speakers also called for to take part in watching how the execution of three others will be conducted.

However, critics say al Shabaab accustomed to kill everyone they see against them or refused their harsh orders.
