[I have been chatting to some Rhodesians about the despicable state of affairs in Zimbabwe. Robb Ellis was remarking to me that a family member of his in Harare sees demonstrations in the streets of Harare almost DAILY. But the demonstrations alone are achieving nothing.
Another Rhodesian was saying to me that he agrees with me that it is only WHITE MEN who have the balls to actually get the FIGHT going against Mugabe. It drives him crazy watching this stuff.
He was saying that it is complete nonsense that the MDC announces the planned dates and places of protests. Of course they must – or else it is illegal. But he was talking about a concept almost identical to one which I discussed with the CZA (Concerned Zimbabweans Abroad). He was talking about what one might call, “Opportunistic Sabotage”. Its not terrorism. It is sabotage and destruction of things. For example, if someone sees a Police vehicle and they puncture a tyre or two and run away. In a country with no money… this would cause havoc. Or a Govt vehicle has petrol put in and you chuck sand in the fuel tank.
But this other Rhodesian really had some cool ideas. The one which had me laughing endlessly was this one – I kid you not. He was saying that if any of those Zanu(PF) bastards or their henchmen or anyone working for them is in hospital and you walk by their beds you should rip out their drips! He said it in such a vengeful way – I loved it. But that illustrates exactly how one should do this.
One shouldn’t bugger around. Somehow one must figure out small but creative ways of buggering things up and causing chaos so that the state machinery grinds to a total halt. From there, the next step to successful revolution will be easy. Zimbabwe is in such a state of meltdown that these tactics will work brilliantly and soon Mugabe will not have the money/vehicles/equipment to actually oppress the masses and they’ll be able to take the scumbag.
I’m sure I’ve published ideas on this “Opportunistic One-man Sabotage” before. I seem to recall mentioning other ideas like just cutting telephone lines to the Police stations and Govt Depts.
Someone also told me that you can take a light bulb, drill a small hole in it, pour in some petrol and put it back. Then when someone switches on the light it explodes.
Other ideas I was keen on was the sabotage of railway lines – perhaps by digging under the rails – or even trying to bring down eletricity pylons.
Its too bad one couldn’t get some hit squads going to start knocking off some of Mugabe’s supporters.
One Rhodesian sent me these comments which he discussed with a black Policeman who fled from Zimbabwe:-
“Interestingly enough, I have been speaking to various people about no mass action, but individual taking opportunist action. I seem to be getting quite an enthusiastic response. If every single person took and opportunity as it arose, all these one-offs could mess them right up. I was talking to a black ex-rhodeian policeman this morning. This guy respects whites and he fled to South Africa for fear of his life 5 years ago. He loves the idea as he calls the police force a bunch of gangsters. He should know as he was a deputy inspector and he told me that the Police steal from the public because their wages won’t keep them alive. He agrees that if everyone acted as one or two man/women units, it would mess up CIO and Zanu(PF) in no time. I don’t know what you think but I believe it has merit IF it is sold correctly…”
I definitely agree. This Mass Action is achieving nothing. What is needed is simple, informal, UNPLANNED DECENTRALISED little “hits” in the form of sabotage of anything related to Govt and Mugabe’s power structures. Just slowly, quietly, in an imperceptible way stuff up things… a tyre here, an engine there, an electrical line there a telephone cable. It will all help to stuff the country up completely.
But the key thing is weakening, in small ways, the power structures and driving the country into total bankruptcy because then it prevents Mugabe from having the means to actually send in the army to fight the people. Then a mass uprising and REVOLUTION can succeed. Jan]
