Here are some photos I took on the day of Richard’s funeral just to show you how beautiful the area where he lived in the Eastern Cape is.
This photo below is of the mountain that dominates the little town of Ugie. This is the southern tip of the Drakensberg mountain range. This particular mountain is called “Prentjiesberg” by the locals which can be translated as “Picturesque Mountain”. Snow in S.Africa is pretty rare, but this particular mountain is covered in snow most years during winter. I was told that in the last winter the snow reached down to the lower reaches of the mountain. Richard named his butchery after the mountain! The pickup truck in the photo was Richard’s.
