Zimbabwe: Kasukuwere Blasts Zimplasts

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Harare – INDIGENISATION plans submitted by Zimbabwe Platinum Mine (Zimplats) “are crazy, retrogressive and unacceptable” as they fall short of what is envisaged by the law, Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Minister Saviour Kasukuwere has said.

Minister Kasukuwere said he was so disturbed by the plan that he would convene an urgent meeting with the company representatives.

The minister said this on Sunday evening at New Donnington Farm, owned by Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr Gideon Gono during a visit by South Africa’s African National Congress youth leader Cde Julius Malema. Cde Malema and Zanu-PF youth wing members had earlier during the day toured the platinum plant near Chegutu and Ngezi Mine in Mhondoro where they held a meeting with senior officials at the mine.

“Zimplats’ proposal is very crazy, it is crazy.

“I am going to meet them next week on their proposal, which is very crazy. We insist that 51 percent should go to indigenous people,” Minister Kasukuwere said.

He said the Australian-controlled company ought to understand that Zimbabweans should primarily enjoy mineral deposits in the country.

“In any case how much are we getting from the mines? Nothing! Australians say we have failed to run our country but they are sticking around, why don’t you go if we have failed?” he asked.

“They are taking the money outside the country.

“Australia says a lot of rubbish about us but they are mining diamonds in Murowa,” Minister Kasukuwere said.

The minister said Zimbabwe would rather have the mines in the country closed if the country does not have the requisite skills until such time it has as the fiscus.

“If we can’t mine the minerals, lets close them, we would mine them when we can,” he said.

He implored Parliament’s Portfolio Committee to look at the foreign owned mines and see how they contributed to the fiscus and the community they were serving.

“They should go to these mines and see who owns them. They (Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Mines and Energy) are scared,” he said.

The Zanu-PF Youth League led by Politburo member Cde Absolom Sikhosana and Cde Patrick Zhuwawo held a closed door meeting with senior officials at Ngezi Mine.

Addressing the youths after the tour, Cde Malema said Zimbabwean youths were justified for taking a keen interest in the ownership of the country’s resources.
