WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

The latest national crime statistics released at a police chiefs’ meeting are shocking. Something needs to be done immediately to ensure that the situation does not out of control.

According to Vice-President Ali Mohamed Shein, the crime rate has shot up by 12 per cent over the last one year. By last December, a total of 567,288 crime related incidents had been recorded, up from 506,030 cases the previous year. The increase of 61,225 incidents is simply unacceptable.

Several factors have contributed to this serious deterioration in security. Top on the list is rising corruption in the Police Force. This, coupled with negligence and indiscipline, has hampered the effectiveness of the police to guarantee public safety.

It’s not surprising that some wayward police officers engage in armed robberies, claiming that they are not paid adequately to cope with the rising inflation.

Admittedly, the men and women in uniform operate under harsh conditions and put their lives on the line for us. Some often go without being paid their arrears under various entitlements, live in poor housing, and lack reliable transport.

But for a poor country such as Tanzania, this situation is not unique to the Police Force. Workers in all other sectors of the public service experience similar or worse conditions.

The government, with the assistance of donors, is doing its best to equip the force with vital working tools, including modern communication gadgets, and transport in a bid to improve its efficiency.

Reports of gunmen holding hostage urban dwellers or villagers for hours, stealing their property and ultimately killing them, have painted a rather poor public image of the police.

The rising crime rate has also raised fears not only among locals, but also potential investors, thus denying hundreds of Tanzanians jobs and stunting economic growth.

The police should step up patrols around sensitive installations such as banks and factories, while community policing should be intensified to take care of the residential areas. Crime must be fought and defeated. Let’s do it together.
