News – South Africa: Shilowa set to go online at IOL

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

South Africa is getting ready to go to the polls in 2009 – and so are our political leaders.

Find out what life in the fast lane is like for one of the founders of the Congress of the People, Mbhazima Shilowa, by joining IOL’s online chat forum at 12 noon on December 11.

The chat forum will be extended to other political parties for the duration of the run-up to the election.

You’ll be able to use the chat forum to question Shilowa about his party’s policies and plans – but note that the chat will be moderated by IOL editorial staff (see our ground rules below).

See you there!

Some ground rules

This service is subject to the terms and conditions of the IOL Interactive service (outlined below).

In brief, your participation is expected to be civil. If you transgress the terms and conditions, you will be banned from the room immediately by an IOL staffer who will be online for the duration of the chat.

Terms and conditions

Comments from readers on any of Independent Online’s public forums are made on the understanding that IOL operates in a particular legal and social framework. Readers who submit comments or take part in debates accept that they are subject to the following constraints:

1. All comments are moderated, and subject to editing or to deletion. There is no guarantee that comments will be published and neither will there be any commitment on moderation turnaround times.
2. When you submit a comment, our decision to publish will be based on whether your comment conforms with a set of guidelines, which are:
* Park your flame-thrower at the door. Misunderstandings are possible when we use electronic communication. If you see something that you don’t understand please ask questions, rather than to accuse or condemn. We will edit or delete comments that are likely to inflame passions.
* Refrain from personal attacks, hate speech (see definition below), racism, bigotry, or profanity, or comments that may expose IOL to defamation lawsuits under South African law (see definition below).
* Your comment should be relevant to the original post and subsequent discussion.
3. No discussion will be entered into on our moderation decisions.
4. IOL reserves the right to close discussion on a particular issue, and to close the entire comments service if necessary.
5. We’ve asked for your email address in case we need to contact you, but it will not be published with your comment, nor will it be published anywhere else.
6. If you want to make a formal complaint or have spotted a mistake on the site, please don’t use the comment facility to let us know: rather use the Feedback page as that is monitored constantly so that we can respond quickly.

TROLLS
When you suspect that somebody is a troll (someone who comes online to cause trouble), you might try responding with a polite, mild message, or ignore the comment. However, if the person persists and seems to enjoy being unpleasant, the only effective position is summed up as follows: The only way to deal with trolls is to limit your reaction to reminding others not to respond to trolls.

HATE SPEECH
The South African constitution says (section 16, Chapter 2 ? Bill of Rights):

16. Freedom of expression

1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, which includes
a. freedom of the press and other media;
b. freedom to receive or impart information or ideas;
c. freedom of artistic creativity; and
2. d. academic freedom and freedom of scientific research. The right in subsection (1) does not extend to:
a. propaganda for war;
b. incitement of imminent violence; or
c. advocacy of hatred that is based on race, ethnicity, gender or religion, and that constitutes incitement to cause harm.

DEFAMATION
