Johannesburg – A woman and her daughter were raped and their home in Spruitview ransacked on Thursday, Katlehong police said.
Police spokesperson Cobly Matema said three men forced their way into the house and asked for guns.
When their demand was not met they ransacked the house.
Then they raped the 44-year-old mother and her daughter.
The noise of a shot being fired alerted neighbours, who called the police.
The intruders fled, taking cellphones and cash. Two family members were taken to hospital.
No arrests had been made so far.
