Zimbabwe: African Union chief in Harare – Will the utterly useless AU actually do something?

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

[Don’t hold your breath that the completely worthless, pro-Mugabe AU will do anything. Bunch of clowns. Jan]

Addis Ababa – The chairperson of the African Union’s executive, Jean Ping, was in Harare on Monday for talks with Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe on the country’s electoral crisis, diplomats said.

“The chairperson and his delegation arrived late on Sunday in Harare. The specifics of their schedule are not yet known but it appears they should be seeing president Mugabe on Monday,” an African diplomat in Addis Ababa said on condition of anonymity.

The AU headquarters is in Addis Ababa.

South African President Thabo Mbeki spoke with Ping, the newly-elected chairperson of the AU commission, over the weekend and offered him the use of a specially chartered plane, another diplomat said.

Ping’s visit to Harare comes amid pressing calls from the United States for increased AU involvement in the Zimbabwean electoral crisis.

African countries have been divided over Zimbabwe, which has been mired in a bitter dispute since March 29 general polls.

Results released after five tense weeks indicate a run-off is needed between Mugabe and Movement for Democratic Change candidate Morgan Tsvangirai, but the opposition leader maintains he won outright in the first round. – Sapa-AFP
