I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

The recent fuel price increases has seen the price of food increasing at an alarming rate.
Millions of poor South Africans are being hit hard by the rapidly rising prices of staples, such as bread, milk and maize.
And now the government is reportedly looking at giving food vouchers or cash to poor households to help them cope with spiralling food prices.
IOL has asked: “Should food vouchers and government regulation be implemented to protect the poor from rising prices?”
Of the 296 readers who responded, 67 percent said Yes, 24 percent (72 votes) said No, while 9 percent (26 votes) did not care.

I voted Yes. So long as the bad apple corrupt officials do not steel the vouchers intended for the poor. This means that control structures second to none must be put in place to ensure delivery to the right (poor) recipients.

All poor people are scrounging pigs and deserve no help or upliftment. No where in the first world do people’s taxes go towards feeding its poor. Call me selfish, but I’m not sharing my good fortune with anyone.
BS:
We don’t need vouchers, we’ll relax and enjoy nature, catching fish and swim, keeps us minds clean, who needs electricity and vouchers? We are forced to nature, let the damn city dwellers worry about finances and sh…all I need is my small sat dish and be near a good reception , cheers for the day

I have said it before and I will say it again. The policy of birth regulation needs to be implemented. There are too many people, and that is the problem. Giving vouchers will not solve the demand problem as a consequence of population.

Government subsidizing subsistence crops would out us back in the dark ages. SA does not need many small farmers who live from hand to mouth, but fewer big farmers who can produce food on a large scale to feed the nation with staple foods.

I agree with the assistance plan, provided that the cost has already been allocated, in the municiple/ Gov budgets and not expected to come from certain quarters. If everyone contributed something every month, even R50, then the Gov would have a little something to provide for the food vouchers etc. Alternatively it should be invested into assisting farmers production subsistence crops.
