I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Thousands of elite South African police officers will be trained to deal with terrorists, hardened criminals and sport hooligans ahead of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
Deputy Police Commissioner Andre Pruis on Friday announced the plan to train and deploy more than 1 000 additional National Intervention Unit (NIU) and Special Task Force (STF) members.
Pruis was speaking at an award ceremony for 24 soldiers, policemen and women involved in the killing of three suspects and the arrest of five others during an attempted bank robbery in Centurion last year.
The police officers are all members of the STF, the NIU and the SAPS Air Wing.
Pruis said the training of specialised police officers was important in securing the 2010 Soccer World Cup and reducing serious and violent crimes such as cash-in-transit heists and house, business and bank robberies.
He said officers were undergoing training in the UK, Germany and China.
“They are receiving highly specialised training in terms of monitoring and reacting to certain situations.
“They are being taught how to identify sports hooligans and how to use specialised monitoring equipment to deal with them.”
He said they had embarked on a huge recruitment drive to fill the 1 000 NIU and STF posts that had been created specifically for 2010 and beyond.
These officers, along with others from other elite units, would be incorporated into special reaction units that would deal with crime situations during the World Cup.
The units would be based in the host cities and have 196 members each.
“They will be made up of STF members who will be responsible for anti-terrorism operations, NIU members who will deal with snatch-and-grab operations when it comes to arresting hooligans and other ruffians, public order police to quell riots, dog units to detect bombs, specialised forensic officers as well as detectives,” Pruis said.
“Specialised units such as the STF and NIU are vital when it came to fighting crime, especially bank robberies – like last year’s foiled FNB heist at Eco Park in Centurion – and cash heists.
“Evidence of their importance is the current deployment of NIU members to the Eastern Cape area of Mzamaba, where a spate of brutal murders has been taking place.”
Pruis couldn’t say how many women had been killed, but said these murders were among some of the most brutal he had seen.
“Many of the victims had been sexually mutilated before being killed,” he said, adding that they were investigating a possible link to witchcraft.
He said the NIU members, deployed alongside detectives of the Organised Crime Unit, were expected to make a breakthrough in the case soon.
