S.Africa: Criminal scumbag says: Keep me in jail, pleads man

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

[Yes, because Jail is his safe-house where he is protected by the Govt, Police and the entire legal system. But when he walks out the door maybe someone else will not be in such a good mood. Jan]

A man suspected of robbing and murdering his jeweller friend last month in Table View says he does not want to be released on bail because he fears for his safety.

Pieter Odendaal, 37, appeared in the Cape Town magistrate’s court on Tuesday on charges of murder and robbery with aggravated circumstances.

He is suspected of killing 35-year-old Tania von Weilligh last month and was arrested four days after her body was discovered in her Table View jewellery shop.

Wearing a long-sleeved orange-and-mustard top, khaki shorts and sandals, and with his shoulder-length hair tied in a ponytail, Odendaal seemed nervous on Tuesday and stared at the Cape Times reporter, asking if she was there to report on the case.

Throughout proceedings he kept rubbing his hands together, sighing and shaking his head.

Asked by magistrate Vusi Mhlanga why he did not want to be considered for bail, Odendaal replied: “Your Honour, I fear for my own safety.”

Odendaal’s Legal Aid attorney was not present in court on Tuesday and he was not asked to plead.

Odendaal, who was born in Wynberg and who apparently does not have a fixed address, was arrested in Simon’s Town last month.

He is alleged to have killed Von Weilligh on March 14. A relative found her body with head wounds later the same day.

Jewellery and other items stolen from Von Weilligh’s shop were recovered when Odendaal was arrested.

  • The case was postponed to June 10.
