Police wounded one business robber and arrested all three on Tuesday night, Eastern Cape police said.
Spokesperson Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said the three men, armed with one gun and bush knives, were trying to rob a shop when they became involved in a shootout with police.
One of the robbers was critically injured during the shootout and was later taken to hospital where he remained under police guard.
A stolen vehicle and a 9mm pistol were impounded.
Fatyela said police were busy formalising charges against the three.
They would appear in the Mthatha magistrate’s court on charges of armed robbery and possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition. – Sapa
