NEWS BRIEF: “Israelis dig in amid criticism, attacks: Some tie rhetoric
to bombings”, by Hugh Dellios and E.A. Torriero, Tribune Staff Writers,
Chicago Tribune, Wednesday, September 5, 2001, p. 1, 16.

“JERUSALEM — Feeling physically threatened and diplomatically isolated,
Israelis on Tuesday lashed out at their critics at the United Nations
conference on racism and rallied in defense of Prime Minister Ariel
Sharon’s handling of the Palestinian uprising. Hours after a suicide bomb
attack injured 15 Israelis in downtown Jerusalem, government officials
warned that the vitriolic rhetoric at the conference condemning Israel as
a ‘racist state’ may thwart peace efforts and encourage the Palestinians
to continue their 11-month-old uprising.”

“On the street where a Palestinian terrorist disguised as an Orthodox Jew
blew himself up outside an international school, victims and witnesses
quickly drew a line linking the conference rhetoric and the fifth bombing
in Jerusalem in two days. ‘This is part of a collective campaign against
Israel and the Jewish people worldwide’, said Ruphi Pollack, a doctor at
the Kikur Holim Hospital across the street from the school. ‘We are under
siege.” [Pages 1, 16]

“We are under siege”!

JERUSALEM UNDER SIEGE — PROPHECY 2,500 YEARS AGO!

In His mighty Omniscience, God foretold of the coming End Times days when
He would force the nations of the world to collectively come against
Jerusalem, so that He could pour out His judgment upon them! Finally, all
the centuries of worldwide anti-Semitism are going to be dealt with as God
causes the leaders of the nations of the world to come against Jerusalem
so that they may be annihilated. Let us review this pertinent prophecy:

“Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem cup or bowl of reeling to all the
peoples round about, and in the siege against Jerusalem will there also be
a siege against and upon Judah.” [Zechariah 12:2, Parallel Bible,
KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

I find this word, “siege” very interesting, because that is exactly the
mentality of the Jewish people today. Just as the good doctor, Ruphi
Pollack, was quoted above as saying “we are under siege”, so the vast
majority of the Jewish people from Left to Right Wing feeling under siege.
Soon, this feeling of being under siege is going to give way to an actual
series of sieges by vast foreign armies, but for now, it is enough that
the Jewish people are voicing this exact opinion. Now, let us return to
this feature article to see more instances in which this particular Bible
prophecy is being fulfilled, in your Daily News.

“Since it began Friday, the conference had been nearly derailed by
contentious Arab-Israeli politics. Led by Arab and Muslim delegates, the
conference was preparing a final proclamation that would declare Israel a
‘racist state’ and equate Zionism with racism.” [Ibid., P. 16]

Lest anyone think that this conference started with pure motives and just
became “derailed” by the aggressive tactics of Arabs and Muslims, we want
you to knows that the papers were filled with numerous stories for weeks
before this conference began which clearly stated that this conference was
going to go after Israel as a “racist state”. During this time period,
President Bush warned repeatedly that the United States would not tolerate
such a one-sided attack on Israel; indeed, after sending a lower level
delegation to try to convince delegates to not go through with this
unbelievable declaration, Bush ordered the U.S. delegation home before the
final votes were tallied.

With our knowledge of the demonic spirit of rebellion that is clearly and
forcefully flowing throughout this entire world right now, we can clearly
see the Spirit of Antichrist blowing upon the hearts and minds of the
leaders of the nations, turning them against Israel and the Jew ever more
stridently.

God is drawing the leaders of the nations toward Jerusalem.

Now, let us review this feature article again.

“Back home … Israelis from many political persuasions expressed a common
disgust with the international community over what they saw as its
erroneous view that Israel is the aggressor in the Intifada … as the
Intifada drags on, polls show that a substantial majority of Israelis
support Sharon’s policies of targeting the uprising’s leaders and
retaliating for terrorist attacks. And the heavy criticism leveled at
Israel during the racism conference brought out left-wingers as well as
right-wingers to support Sharon.” [Ibid.]

In NEWS1411, posted in November, 2000, we reported that Arafat must go to
war because he had alienated the left-wing Jewish voter mightily. Now, we
see that we were truly Cutting Edge on this issue, as this article states
that fact very clearly. Today, polls show that nearly three-fourths [75%]
of all Jewish voters have turned against the Oslo Peace Accord; they now
firmly believe that the Palestinians do not want peaceful coexistence with
the Jew, but want only the peace of the grave for the State of Israel and
all her citizens.

Thus, the drama of the prophesied annihilation of the House of Esau
[Palestinians] foretold in Obadiah 15-18 draws ever closer [Read full
details in NEWS1123 and NEWS1422]. This drama inches ever closer to
fulfillment by news that about the same proportion of Palestinians do not
want any coexistence, but believe all-out war to eradicate Israel is the
only viable option.

When 75% of citizens on both sides of a conflict want all-out war, then
all-out war is exactly what shall eventually occur. Do not allow
yourselves to be deceived on this issue.

Israel has been held back in delivering a knockout blow against
Palestinian terror attacks — especially the onerous human suicide bomber
— because they fear world opinion. In retaliation, Israel has struck at
empty Palestinian buildings with missiles and tanks, but still world
opinion rails against them. Believe me, if Americans were being killed by
suicide bombers when they just went to a Sbarros for a pizza, we would be
demanding swift police and military action against those responsible. If
prestigious nightclubs were being bombed into oblivion as our richest and
finest citizens were innocently partying, Americans would be demanding
that the paramilitary and/or terrorist organizations responsible be
attacked and annihilated. America would not ever show the kind of
restraint that Israel has been demonstrating these past 12 months.

The purpose of this measured restraint has been to dissuade the Leftist
Jewish voter of the lie he had been told during the promotion of the Oslo
Peace Accord, i.e., that the Palestinians just wanted their own little
country, and that, if they were granted it, they would be content to live
peaceably side-by-side with the Jews. The Intifada that is now nearly 12
months old has now sufficiently persuaded enough Leftist Jews of the true
intentions of the Palestinians that now 75% of the total Jewish electorate
supports a heavy-handed military response.

And, now, the threat of international displeasure is receding. Listen to
our feature article:

” ‘Most of the people here are coming to the conclusion that this country
is willfully misunderstood by the rest of the world’, said David Horovitz,
editor of the Jerusalem Report magazine and a supporter of the collapsed
Oslo peace process. ‘The main danger of Durban is that it legitimizes
Palestinian aggression against Israel …’ Chemi Shalev, a political
analyst for the Maariv newspaper, wrote Tuesday from the UN conference
that they ‘dwell alone in their bunker’ and that Arafat ‘may bask in the
waves of support he is enjoying …and thus move away from a cease-fire.
Shalev noted a feeling in Israel, voiced by a right-wing newspaper, of
‘OK, then let’s go all the way. The world in any case treats us as
occupiers and oppressors, so let’s start acting accordingly.’ ” [Ibid.]

As I read that Arafat was basking ‘in the waves of support he is
enjoying”, I could not help but remember God’s statement 3,000 years ago,
in the Book of Psalms.

“Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of
voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise] an empty
scheme? The rulers of the earth take their places: the rulers take
counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the
Christ) … He Who sits in the heavens laughs; the Lord has them in
derision and in supreme contempt He mocks them. He speaks to them in His
deep anger and troubles (terrifies and confounds) them in His displeasure
and fury, saying, ‘Yet have I anointed (installed and placed) My King
[firmly] on My holy hill of Zion.” [Psalm 2:1-6; Parallel Bible,
KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

Let the rulers of the nations today, who have issued this despicable
judgment against Israel as being a “racist state” take note of this verse,
and of many others, that declare — nay, shout — that God is a Zionist of
the highest degree. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob has declared
Himself to be the world’s #1 Zionist; therefore, when the Palestinians and
other leaders of the world declare Zionism to be racism, they have just
declared all-out war on God.

Furthermore, these leaders have just declared all-out war against God’s
Messiah, Jesus Christ. You see, Israel’s return to her land in 1948 in a
spiritual stupor of unbelief in Jesus Christ simply fulfilled Bible
prophecy of Ezekiel 37:8, where God foretold that He would originally
bring Israel back as a nation without “spirit in them”. From that moment
on, Israel was destined to go through her “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”
[Jeremiah 30:7], in which she will first accept the False Messiah
[Antichrist] and then see a remnant protected by God so that her surviving
remnant shall receive Jesus Christ at His Second Coming with open arms,
minds, and hearts, in direct fulfillment of Zechariah 12:10b.

This Chicago Tribune feature article demonstrates very clearly that the
rulers of the nations of the world — save the United States — have now
lined up against Israel [Judah] generally and Jerusalem specifically.
This prophecy of Zechariah 12:2, quoted above, has now come true. The
Jewish people now feel they are under siege by the opinion of the entire
world, and the time is coming soon that they will look out from their
bunkers to see huge armies in actual military siege against Jerusalem.

Let us take a closer look at this statement by Chemi Shalev, a political
analyst for the Maariv newspaper. He stated that Israel might as well
start acting as the oppressive occupier they have been portrayed as being.
I submit to you that this attitude has already been accepted by the more
radical Jews in Israel. Consider this secondary News Brief:

“Vigilantes take up arms, vow to expel ‘Muslime Filth’,” by Jack Kelly,
USA Today, Tuesday, September 4, 2001.

“Claiming they have been abandoned by Israel’s government and determined
to rid the West Bank of Arabs, vigilante Jewish settlers are shooting and
beating Palestinians, stealing and destroying their property, and
poisoning and diverting their water supplies, Israeli and Palestinian
officials say … Nearly 450 right-wing Jews, all of whom are armed and
claim a Biblical right to the land, live here [Hebron] among 120,000
Palestinians. Many, like Shapiro and his colleagues, are ready to strike
at any time … ‘It only takes a spark to light a very big fire here’,
says Yossi Sarid , a left-wing Israeli opposition leader. ‘This is a city
that is cursed’ … The [radical] group … has been distributing fliers
in the West Bank that read: ‘Revenge is holy. It should be up to the
government to do it, but unfortunately, the government does not care about
the murder of Jews. There are people whose patience has run out.’ The
settlers accuse [the government] of not doing enough to protect them or of
favoring the Palestinians … ‘We’ll keep this up until we eliminate all
the Muslim filth’, Shapiro said before the confrontation. ‘We have to:
it’s our Jewish obligation’.” [Page 1-2]

God has stated in prophecies that He shall come to the aid of Israel,
until only the Jewish state and its citizens, are living in the land.
Surely you can see from this state of affairs in Israel that peace can be
attained only when the government is only Jewish or only Palestinian. God
says He shall ensure that His holy land is occupied only by the Jewish.

Daily News again corresponds with prophecy!

Let us close with a closer look at Zechariah 12, for this prophecy will
soon be literally fulfilled in your Daily News. Truly, Bible scholars
have been correct all along when they have said that Bible prophecy is
simply “history pre-told”. Listen to God “pre-telling history” in the
rest of this Zechariah prophecy.

“And in that day I am about to make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all
peoples; all who lift it or burden themselves with it shall be sorely
wounded [Arafat, are you listening?]. And all the nations of the earth
shall come and gather against it.” [Zechariah 12:3]

“In that day, says the Lord, I will smite every horse [of the armies that
contend against Jerusalem] with terror and panic and his rider with
madness; and I will open My eyes and regard with favor the house of Judah
and will smite every horse of the opposing nations with blindness.”
[Zechariah 12: 4, [Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary] God
will take personal control to ensure that individual soldiers in the
armies opposing Israel shall not be able to fight properly, because their
minds have been given over to the terror God will send upon them.
Therefore, in the heat of battle, these soldiers will be overcome and
their armies defeated.

“And the chiefs of Judah shall say in their hearts, ‘The inhabitants of
Jerusalem are our strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.” [Zechariah
12:5]. In other words, much of the leadership of Israel will recognize
that they are being delivered by the Lord God of Israel Himself.

“In that day will I make the chiefs of Judah like a big, blazing pot among
[sticks of wood] and like a flaming torch among sheaves [of grain], and
they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on
the left …” [Zechariah 12:6, Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible
Commentary]

This prophecy is shocking for its vivid “word picture” attesting to the
severity of God’s judgment.

When the leaders of all the nations of the world assembled in Durban,
South Africa, in order to declare Israel “a racist state”, and to equate
Zionism with racism, what is really happening is that God is gathering
these leaders and their peoples like He would gather sticks of wood for a
fire. Or, you can also look at this conference as God gathering dry
sheaves of grain together; soon, He will throw a “flaming torch” in
amongst these dry sheaves of grain, igniting such a huge fire that will
immediately and totally devour them. God is using such conferences as
these to assemble His firewood for the prophesied End Times judgment.

Now, let us return to the final statement of Zechariah 12:6: “… and
they of Jerusalem shall yet again dwell and sit securely in their own
place, in Jerusalem. And the Lord shall save and give victory to the tents
of Judah first, that the glory of the House of David and the glory of the
inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be magnified and exalted above Judah.”
[Zechariah 12:6b-7]

In other words, God shall establish the Israel of End Times as a united
nation that will not be divided any more, but shall be one nation before
Him. This prophecy is repeated elsewhere in the Old Testament, to the
point where it is a major theme for the End of the Age. [Jeremiah 33:7;
33:14-17; Hosea 1:11].

Let us continue on with our study of Zechariah 12:

“In that day will the Lord guard and defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and he who is [spiritually] feeble and stumbles among them in that day [of
persecution] shall become [strong and noble] like David; and the house of
David shall maintain its supremacy like God, like the Angel of the Lord
Who is before them.” [Zechariah 12:8, Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible
Commentary]

Thus, during this time of persecution, individual Jews who normally would
cower in fear at the vast array against them will become bold and “noble
like David”. Watch your news carefully. Even though the Palestinians
think that their terrorism against the Jew will drive them in fear from
their land, just the opposite will occur. Even as the terrorism
increases, even as more peoples throughout the world join against Israel,
and even if the United States were ever to turn against Israel, the Jews
will respond in the opposite manner the Palestinians envision. Rather
than fleeing Israel in terror, the Holy Spirit will sweep the Jewish
population, turning individual Jews into strong and noble warriors like
King David of old. Jews from all parts of the world will flock to Israel
to aid her in her battle for survival.

Watch your Daily News for this development.

“And it shall be in that day that I will make it My aim to destroy all the
nations that come against Jerusalem.” [Zechariah 12:9, Parallel Bible,
KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary]

You cannot get more clear than this: God will “make it His aim” to
destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. In order for this
to occur, God must first place the thought in the minds of End Times
leaders to come against Jerusalem. God is finally moving in the hearts
and minds of these current leaders to come against His Holy City so that
God can begin His final judgment against them for both current and
historical persecution of the Jew. As God stated over 3,000 years ago:

“… I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee:”
[Genesis 12:3]

Speaking in End Times context, God foretold both the reasons for His
judgment and the end result:

“For the day of the Lord is near upon all nations. As you have done, it
shall be done to you; your dealings will return upon your own head.”
[Obadiah 15]. In other words, God is finally going to move against Edom
and the House of Esau in this passage, ensuring that the very measure of
their dealings with Israel shall come back against them precisely. In the
past 3,000 years, the Arabs of Edom [House of Esau] have fought the Jews
at every turn, and have persecuted them wherever and whenever possible.
Since May, 1948, the Palestinians [House of Esau] have persecuted and
killed Jews wherever possible. How many Americans have been sickened at
the sight of seemingly insane Palestinians blowing themselves to bits just
so they can kill Jewish men, women, children, and babies?

However, in God’s eyes, this persecution has gone far beyond these actions
of war and terrorism. Jesus told us that all evil actions of which man is
capable stream from the condition of the heart, including murder [Matthew
15:18-20]. Thus, when Palestinian teachers instructs young children from
the beginning of school to hate the Jew and want him dead, they are guilty
of murder already in their hearts.

Thus, God is moving against the current leadership and population of the
Palestinians to finally bring upon their own heads the final end they have
envisioned for the Jew: complete annihilation.

Listen to God continue: “For as you [Edom] have drunk upon the mountain
of My holiness … so shall all nations drink continually turn, of My
wrath; yes, they shall drink, talk foolishly, and swallow down the full
measure of punishment and they shall be destroyed as though they had not
been.” [Obadiah 16]

Whenever the Palestinians bury one of their leaders, they boldly talk of
“revenge” and of “days of rage” against the Jew. They talk foolishly and
shoot their automatic weapons into the air in defiance. This is scene
exactly what God is speaking of here, and it occurs repeatedly.

Further, do not be deceived into thinking that the Palestinians are not
the House of Esau. News agencies have climbed on the false bandwagon that
the Palestinians are from the Philistines, a totally bogus claim. In
1992, I emailed the Israeli Embassy in Jerusalem, asking if the House of
Esau had a modern day descendent, and if they did, who that would be.
Several days later, I received an email from a rabbi, who said that the
modern day descendents of the House of Esau were the Palestinians, both
those in the West Bank and in the Jordanian province of Edom.

In November, 1999, I spoke with Dr. Robert Amos, retired Bible professor
now living in Calgary and I asked him who the modern day descendents of
the House of Esau were. He replied that they were the Palestinians, just
as the rabbi had earlier stated.

Do not be deceived on this point. When the Palestinians are annihilated
as Obadiah foretells, you will then know the truth of this matter.

Now, let us return to Obadiah:

“But on Mount Zion [in Jerusalem] there shall be deliverance … and it
shall be holy; and the house of Jacob shall possess its own former
possessions.” [Obadiah 17, Parallel Bible, KJV/Amplified Bible
Commentary].

To make Mount Zion — the Temple Mount — holy again, God will have to
remove the Muslim Dome of the Rock now sitting on this location. Thus,
the plan Arafat has to blow the Dome to blame it on the Jews so he can
achieve his united front against Israel takes on new meaning, does it not?

for full details].

Then, once God has given annihilating victory to Israel over the Jews, He
is going to allow Israel to expand out to include all the lands He
promised to Abraham. These “former possessions” include all Lebanon,
Syria to within a few miles of Damascus, part of Iraq, and two-thirds of
Jordan. God repeats this promise in Ezekiel 36, in Joel 2, and in Amos
9:11-15].

Finally, God reveals His planned annihilation of the Palestinians:

“The house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, but
the house of Esau shall be stubble; they shall kindle and burn them and
consume them, and there shall be no survivor of the house of Esau, for the
Lord has spoken it [Ezekiel 25:12-15 repeats this prophesy against Edom,
the House of Esau].

Thus, God makes it quite plain that He will execute His judgment upon all
the nations of the world for their treatment of Israel, by causing them to
devise one last plan to come against Jerusalem. When they do come, God
shall “make it His aim” to destroy them and the nations from whom they
came.

This type of battle shall continue through the 7-Year Tribulation,
culminating in the final Battle of Armageddon. Listen:

“For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city
shall be taken … Then shall the Lord go forth and fight against those
nations, as when He fought in the day of battle.” [Zechariah 14:2-3]

Though the enemy will enjoy apparent success in finally taking Jerusalem,
Messiah will deliver her when He returns, as the very next verse
foretells: “And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of
Olives, which lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives
shall be split in two from the east to the west by a very great valley;
and half the mountain shall remove toward the north and half of it toward
the south … and the Lord My God shall come, and all the holy ones
[saints and angels] with Him.” [Zechariah 14:4-5, Parallel Bible,
KJV/Amplified Bible Commentary].

Thus, Zechariah 14:2-5 lies at the very end of the Tribulation Period, and
describes the time in the Book of Revelation when Jesus returns with His
saints to conquer the forces of Antichrist [Revelation 16:13-16; 19:11-21]
This is the true Battle of Armageddon, where Jesus Christ slays the
forces of Antichrist and throws Antichrist and the False Prophet into
Hell. The Mass Media in the past several decades has falsely portrayed
the Battle of Armageddon as a nuclear war between America and Russia.

CONCLUSION

Today’s conferences like the one in Durban, South Africa, are setting the
stage when “all nations” shall come against Jerusalem in wave upon wave of
attacks. However, God Himself is the One Who has caused these leaders to
devise this plan of the final annihilation of the Jew, and He will
personally destroy these attacking armies and the countries from whence
they came. This repeated attack on Jerusalem will include the Russian-led
attack on Israel as foretold in Ezekiel 38-39.

Today’s Daily News coming from Durban is setting the stage for the
beginning of the attacks on Jerusalem by all the nations of the world.
When will the first one occur, apparently coming from the Palestinians?
We believe the Palestinian attack will be soon, and will be heralded by
Arafat’s deliberate destruction of the Muslim Dome of the Rock.

Truly, the End of the Age is upon us.
