JEFFREY’S BAY, South Africa. Xhosa tribesmen have revenged the death of a local Xhosa boy, shot dead by a Somali shopkeeper here for ‘stealing a chicken’, by looting and torching 16 Somali-owned shops. The terrified Somalis took refuge at the local police-station, where cops advised them to leave town and never come back again.
This Eastern Cape holiday-resort is hugely popular among international surfers because of its world-famous ‘longest wave’. Now the town has also gained notoriety for its violent ethnic-cleansing of a small group of Somalian refugees.
The local Xhosa tribesmen turned on a group of about 60 Somali refugees after a Somali shopkeeper had allegedly shot dead a Xhosa-youth suspected of theft.
The Somali shopkeeper, according to local cops, had been carrying an unlicensed firearm.He is appearing in court on Friday.
The 15-year-old Xhosa boy, as yet unnamed, was allegedly shot in the back after he was caught stealing a chicken from the Somali-owned shop.
His death enraged local Xhosas, who arrived at the Somali shops enmasse and proceeded to loot and attack 16 Somali-owned shops. they Somalis were forced to take refuge at the local police station. The police has advised the Somalis to ‘find alternative accommodation’…
“The community has warned them not to return,” says Priscilla Naidu of the SA Police. “If they come back to the area, they would do so at their own risk because police have also warned them… to stay away from the area.”
DOES ANYBODY EVER LISTEN TO THE SA HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION?
The SA Human Rights Commission has meanwhile, rushed in to condemn the incident, describing it as ‘mob justice’. It classifies is as xenophobia instead of ethnic-cleansing, saying that “it (the ttacks) also affected other Somalis not linked to the (Xhosa-boy’s) shooting.”

The taxpayer-funded SA Human Rights commission describes itself as the ‘national institution to entrench constitutional democracy; committed topromoting respect for, observance of and protection of human rights for everyone without fear or favour…’
From all its press-releases and reports, it is clear however that it only ‘protects the rights’ of black individuals and black groups and remains TOTALLY SILENT when any human rights of South African whites are being violated…
