I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

By A’eysha Kassiem, IOL – In an earlier Cape Argus report, the Fairoez Adams family had claimed they had been dragged out of the showers of the Oostewal Caravan Park in Langebaan (on the West Cape Coast) and verbally abused by about 20 campers in an alleged racist incident.
Fairoez Adams, her son Yusuf, 11, daughter Imaan, 9, niece Taufeeqah, 17, and husband Faizel, had traded fruit and vegetables nearby and had used the shower facilities to freshen up, claiming they had paid R50 to do so.
But, the campers at Langebaan have laid complaints too, saying the family racially abused them.
Some of the campers who witnessed the incident say racial slurs were in fact hurled at them and not the other way around.
Langebaan Policing Forum chairman Jaco Kotz said three people had made statements to the Langebaan police under oath, giving a different version of events from those of the Adams family’s.
Police have confirmed the counter-statements and are investigating two separate incidents. Kotz said the family claiming alleged racial assaults by whites in the toilets were hawkers in Langebaan.
He said there was no assault on them when they used the showers and they were “not touched”. “It says quite clearly outside the showers that it is to be used by campers only.
“Security guards have recently also chased away white people showering there as well because it is only meant for campers (who pay for the facilities) “
When the Adams family members were told they had to come out of the showers, they screamed, ‘Julle wit Boere, julle wit Honde. Jou dae is getel’ (You white Boers, you white dogs. Your days are numbered).”
Kotz said the Langebaan community had “nothing to hide”.
“We will welcome any investigation. We have been bad-mouthed and tagged.
“This is damaging our image and tourism is our main industry. If it really was a racial issue, black and coloured people would not be staying at the camping site at all.”
The Adams family had earlier lodged a complaint with police and a possible charge of crimen injuria is being investigated. Even the Human Rights commission is getting in on the act.
The Adams family say they were thrown out of the showers by a group of 20 white men and women because they were coloured. After the counter statements were filed however, the Adams family could not be reached for comment by the IOL journalist.
The SA Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) and the Muslim Judicial Council have offered to investigate if the family is prepared to lodge a complaint.
The commission’s chief executive officer, Tseliso Thitanyane, said: “There seems to be a dispute of facts so it should end up in the Equality Court.”
Secretary-general of the MJC, Moulana Abdul Khaliq Allie, said the council condemned the incident, (even though they had not yet investigated all the facts properly). The Saldanha Bay municipality is also investigating.

But, the campers have laid complaints too, saying the family racially abused them.
Langebaan police confirmed that three campers made statements on Tuesday.
Community Policing Forum chairperson in the area, Jaco Kotze, said at least two other people would have handed in statements by Wednesday.
Three of the campers who were present when the incident occurred last Thursday, disputed the family’s claims of being dragged from the showers.
“We asked them politely to leave because the facilities are only open to paying campers. I told them we have suffered our entire holiday with cold water because people who have not paid to camp use the facilities,” said Kalla Ligthart.
They had also “refused to allow three white boys”, who were not paying guests to use the showers a few days earlier.
Ligthart and fellow camper Desire Swanepoel said the family, particularly Fairoez Adams, began hurling racial slurs at them.
Swanepoel said: “She (Adams) kept shouting: ‘Julle wit boere se dae is getel’ (You white Afrikaners’ days are numbered) as their bakkie drove off.”
Guests at the resort had also been plagued by theft over the festive season, they said, which meant they were on alert for people who were not campers.
Another camper, who refused to be named, told the same story.
The campers denied laying a hand on the Adams family.
