I’m not a believer in magic even though I was deeply interested in everything psychic, supernatural or paranormal – I read everything I could lay my hands on.
I don’t believe people can cast spells which actually work.
But, there are many blacks who have DIED after believing a spell was cast on them. In my view, they willed themselves to death until, through their own minds, they killed themselves.
I really enjoyed what you wrote about what Boers know about black African witchcraft. Honestly, we whites should collect this information together – SERIOUSLY as a military operation. I certainly would love this stuff.
I heard from a black Zimbabwean all about Magic and how he believed it affected Robert Mugabe’s politics. This was a few weeks back!
In Africa, witchcraft is a BIG THING, and we could use it as a means of defending ourselves… IF WE KNEW HOW.
I am certainly most interested in the concept.
I know one or two whites who became witchdoctors. Again… a very good thing.
When I was a kid, our “cook boy” on our farm in Rhodesia told me how someone got a severe pain in his leg when walking on a path. He suspected someone had cast a spell on him. He then went and dug up the path and found a jam bottle containing a “magic potion”.
One day, he showed me a jam bottle with a “magic potion” in it. It was a watery substance with some bits of weed in it. If one could find out how they make “potions” and if you could, for example, put such a “potion” on your lawn or something – perhaps it would drive criminals away?
The issue is NOT whether I believe in Witchcraft – the issue is that THEY MOST DEFINITELY DO AND THEY FEAR IT TREMENDOUSLY!
We really are fools for not studying this scientifically and secretly gathering together data on Witchcraft and how we can use it to defend ourselves? Maybe we could drive away lots of criminals by using Witchcraft?
Heck, go and pay some witchdoctor say R500 or R1000 for a “potion” and then use it!!! I’d love to see the junk they chuck in the potion because then one could simply go and make a similar looking potion, and hey presto, it should scare the crap out of others? Hmmm… you know what… that would be a perfect product for my website. If someone can come up with a “realistic” type of potion plus container… I’d love to experiment with it. What if we experimented with leaving these “potions” in people’s gardens in a neighbourhood that has extensive crime? Or what if we published a “potion” or fake-potion mixture?
Like I say, I saw this once when I was a kid. The blacks used jam bottles – and inside was a water or a liquid, and various bits of grass and plant. It wasn’t much. But in this “hocus pocus” world how do they know a “potion” is “real?” You catch my drift? They can’t tell “real” witchcraft from “fake” witchcraft… so if you have some idea… then you make something that looks “real” and off you go. We start by “casting spells” – and make insinuations of “magic” and perhaps we save someone’s life and possessions?
I am quite sure that many blacks also believe that whites are “immune” to magic, which works for us, because they most certainly believe that “magic” can affect them, but since we are “immune” to it, there is no “counter-spell”. So its a one way street that works for us!
Blacks for example have a totally irrational fear of snakes (and that’s pretty strange given that in Africa we have plenty of snakes!). I know of people who’ve put a snake in their car, or even a fake plastic snake or sign of it in their car and blacks won’t come near that car.
When I was a kid there was one black guy who worked for us who actually caught snakes. I can’t remember what he did, whether he sold them to the snake park or something. But, other blacks feared him like crazy. I must ask my mother for full details of the story.
I definitely want more information and thoughts on this. Damn! This concept is starting to really excite me. This is psychological warfare with them, on their level, where it freaks them out!
