I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

[India is actually rather pro-Western… and yet they’re behaving like this to Zuma the Communist. Zuma seems to be trying to remove the “fear factor” of his presidency by lying to foreigners about what he intends doing. Jan]

India has opened its heart and soul, giving its blessing to ANC presidential frontrunner, Jacob Zuma.
He was the star attraction among politicians, entrepreneurs and religious leaders on his five-day visit to the Indian sub-continent this week.
The ANC deputy president was invited to visit the country by Indian Congress leader, Sonia Gandhi, during her visit to South Africa in August, and diamond tycoon, Ashit Mehta.
Zuma attended Mehta’s son’s lavish wedding at the Mahalaxmi Race Course, one of the largest green lung areas of Mumbai.
Not only did Zuma hobnob with the rich and famous during his first visit to India, but he received the blessing of world-renowned head of the Swaminarayan Temple in New Delhi, Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
During a four-hour tour of the temple, impeccable sources said, Maharaj assured Zuma that he had the qualities needed to lead South Africa.
At every turn, Zuma was greeted by an extended hand congratulating him on taking the lead in the race for the ANC presidency.
Another highlight of the visit was Zuma’s hour-long meeting with Sonia Gandhi at her residence in Janpath, New Delhi. Sources said the two leaders discussed continuing co-operation between the ANC and the Indian Congress Party as well as consolidating and improving the massive socio-economic co-operation between the two countries.
Zuma was also invited to a gala dinner hosted by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, the country’s premier chamber with 200 000 companies and professionals across the country as members.
Glitzy
The dinner was held at the posh Taj Mansingh Hotel in New Delhi and attended by top business and political leaders, along with the heads of all the missions from the African continent. Zuma spoke about the historical relations between the two countries and socio-economic development.
On Tuesday, Zuma was among 10 000 guests from around the world invited to attend the glitzy wedding of diamond magnate Arnav Mehta and Nimita Kothari at the glamorous Mahalaxmi Race Course, featuring Bollywood celebrity couple Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. Also performing at the elaborate affair were Shamiak Dawar, Dia Mirza, Upen Patel, Ganesh Acharya and Himesh Reshammiya, who later shook hands with Zuma.
“Both parties have huge investments in Southern Africa and had invited Zuma well in advance of the wedding,” said the source.
Zuma was also invited by the Board of Control for Cricket In India to watch the cricket match between Pakistan and India at the Ferozshah Kotla ground in New Delhi.
The ANC deputy president had a chat with some of the top BCCI officials and Indian cricket players, including Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan, telling them he was “thrilled” at watching the two sides battle.
Zuma also met senior politicians, including the deputy chairman of the Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, who works closely with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
Discussion between Zuma and Ahluwalia focused on micro finance and issues confronting a developmental state.
He also met the Minister of Civil Aviation, Praful Patel, and talked of establishing an air link between Mumbai and Durban that included Air India and Jet Airways.
Zuma also met the Minister of Agriculture, Sharad Pawar, who is also the president of DCCI (Cricket Board).
Minister for Power, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Zuma discussed issues challenging both countries such as energy supply. The Minister of State for External Affairs, Anand Sharma, hosted Zuma in New Delhi to discuss geo-political issues affecting both countries.
