SA men are lazy – and everybody lives in fear here, says Dutch actor

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Oct 4 2007 — THE NETHERLANDS. NRC-HANDELSBLAD. Duch actor Frank Lammers, 35, in South Africa for three months recently to film the lead in the movie “Surprise” by cineast Paul Ruven, branded most SA men as ” arrogant and fokking lazy’ — and that everybody in SA lives in fear.

Lammers writes on his weblog in the Dutch financial daily NRC-Handelsblad: ‘I am really wondering how people can be happy here. Everybody lives in fear.”

He notes that South Africa ‘is not a country for weaklings’, describing one location for a shoot, a chicken farm as “a neo-feodal collection of huts. These are the homes of the farm workers, working for a man which for convenience’s sake, we can call the Boer asshole. He pays them R25 a day, that’s two and a half euros. The minimum wage is seventy rand. He’s closed the farm school because it’s too expensive. The children are cheerful but they will have luck, talent and determination to escape from this hellhole.”

“On to the next location. A villa in Johannesburg. Nice people, very rich. Am ashamed to admit that I feel more at home here than in the dust and heat of the middle-ages.’

He often describes the lack of abilities of his male co-workers with deep disdain but praise the female actresses for their excellence.
“A South African stunt-team had to explode window. ‘guaranteed safe meneer, they said. ‘ I don’t believe they have been on the set for a day without someone getting a bleed…’

This country is going to hell:

Woke up. Read newspaper. This country is going to hell. The difference between poor and rich is too big. History repeating.
An excellent feeding ground for mental retards such as Jacob Zuma. That’s the man who had sex with a seropositive lady – according to her a rape, according to him, with consent. He wasn’t infected because he had a shower afterwards he said.

And he sings a song called ‘give me my machine-gun’. Apparently something about shooting down whites. This ANC-vice president apparently is well on the way to becoming the country’s big boss. Never thought I would long for (Dutch premier) Balkenende and company…’

He describes the country’s addiction to sport: soccer, cricket, rugby and watching games with crew-members.

“Then it’s back to my fortress. If you have money here, you live in a fenced-in compound. Guards, security gates and high-voltage barbed wire. And then you are apparently still supposed to be scared. I ask myself whether anyone here can really be happy. Everybody lives in fear.”

He finds it very strange that people move ‘from one armed compound to the next’ and bemoans about the lack of personal freedom.
“Going for a bit of walk through the city is impossible.’

“When leaving the city in northerly direction, you first drive past Diepsloot. An endless, miserable slum.We stopped by there. Nice helpful people without much future. One toilet for the whole suburb. Today we can only drive past – which can be done except on Saturdays and Sundays. Then they are drunk and angry, the changes don’t go fast enough, so they stone cars containing whites, including our director’s .
“Their anger is completely understandable, they feel forgotten.

“We take a turn at Nash’s farm, old hunting grounds of Prince Bernhard. Hectares of overwhelmingly beautiful nature. “if they ever manage to divide things up fairly here, this would be the most beautiful country in the world.

Then he describes the frustrations on the filmset:

“I have deep respect for people who have to arrange things here. We want a black limo, we get a white one. You want it today, but get it tomorrow. You want the name “Meutstege” on a t-shirt but get one with “Neuststege”. And ‘now’ actually means a little bit later, and if it hasn’t arrived as yet, it becomes ‘now-now”.

“Our focus-puller Houston broke his toe. He was giving a hand at the arts department and dropped a branch on his foot.

Our extras-coach, Marjorie, was robbed last night in her home. Gun to her head, took everything. Miserable.

Last week our unit-manager Clive was robbed. Six men with long knives. Lost everything. This morning his sister died, two years earlier her husband and they left two little orphans behind. Utterly miserable.”

“This is a totalitarian patriarchal society. The men are in charge, totally. When they arrive at home, dinner’s ready, put your feet up, girlie will look after you. You only ask why because most of the men here are really fokking lazy. The actresses on the set always are prepared, every one of them, working hard, knowing their lines. A feast to work with.

“But the men are lazy. Arrogant. Don’t know their texts or barely. And prima donnas acting as if they are Robert de Niro. A drama. There are some exceptions but apparently it’s the same problem in all the other trades too. “

“And then one must add the fact that multiple wives for one man are common here. The reported rape statistics here are higher than anywhere in the world. Just add it all up and a large portion of the misery in this country can be explained. The women should grab the power.”

“I am trying hard to understand this country, this society. And I am greatful that I was allowed to be here for three months.

I hope that all the dear people I have met here, will get a better future. In any case we made a great movie about this, I am convinced of it. In the theatres nest year.
