Now this is simply downright pathetic of the likes of Merkel, German Chancellor to allow the likes of Robert Mugabe to be involved with the EU/AU intergration meeting. But what would you expect from someone who has associations with “ex”-Statsi members of Soviet controlled East Germany now in power? This whole European/African Union talks on intergration is really a push for the Red World Order i.e. New World Social Order:
Germany backs Mugabe attending EU/Africa summit
October 04, 2007, 18:00
German Chancellor Angela Merkela is expected to again back Africa’s demand to allow Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe to attend the upcoming African Union/European Union summit.
She arrives in the country in a few hours as part of a three-nation African tour. Earlier Merkel said she would not endorse the call by some EU members to bar Mugabe from attending the summit. During her two-day visit, she will also check on the country’s 2010 preparations.
Since handing over the prestigious world cup to South Africa last year, Germany wants to help. During her visit, Merkel will discuss the 2010 preparations with President Thabo Mbeki.
Pushing the African agenda
As the current G8 chair, Germany is credited with pushing the African agenda. Within the EU, Germany is a strong ally in the growing partnership with South Africa and the continent.
“She is one of the most important role players these days in international politics; the world has great respect for her. Having her here will focus on things that will benefit South Africa not only in terms of bilateral relations, but also in terms of its relations with the EU and the rest of the world,” said SA ambassador to Germany, Moss Chikane.
The two countries have strong trade links and a forum of business people will meet to build on that strength.
Merkel will also be briefed about the ongoing negotiations in Zimbabwe. While some EU members are threatening to boycott the upcoming EU-Africa summit if Mugabe attends, Germany is adamant that Europeans must not be allowed to dictate to Africa.
Mbeki and Merkel will also talk about the conflicts in Sudan, the DRC and Somalia.
