A 37-year-old man linked to the murder of a police officer at Soweto in Johannesburg was arrested on Monday, police said.
Superintendent Lungelo Dlamini said the man was arrested at Naledi on Monday afternoon.
“A police uniform and a blue light were found at the house where he had been hiding,” Dlamini said.
He said the man was linked to the murder of Inspector George Baloyi, who was shot several times on Friday, when he went to fetch his colleague in Naledi.

Dlamini said two men confronted Baloyi when he boarded a police van after calling his colleague.
“He jumped out of the vehicle and he was shot several times with 9mm pistols,” he said.
Baloyi was taken to the Tshepo Themba hospital where he died on the same day.
Dlamini said the arrested man had been detained at Jabulani police station and would appear in the Protea magistrate’s court on Tuesday, on a charge of murder. – Sapa
