I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

Western Cape police have launched a high-level investigation after the discovery of unauthorised weapons and ammunition at the police’s radio control centre in Maitland.
Provincial spokesperson Captain Randall Stoffels said he could not divulge any details of the investigation at this stage.
Former Western Cape police commissioner and the DA’s provincial spokesperson on community safety, Lennit Max, called on Community Safety MEC Leonard Ramatlakane to investigate. He said a case of unlawful possession of firearms should be opened.
The weapons and ammunition were discovered in storage rooms at the control centre.
Sixteen firearms were found in a safe in the armoury section. These included two 308 sniper assault rifles, normally used by the police’s Special Task Force; four R-5 rifles; various handguns; one LMG automatic machinegun; several shotguns; and a variety of ammunition and teargas grenades.
Max said: “The DA recently revealed the disappearance of almost 40 000 live rounds of ammunition from police storage facilities.”
“Police records show that these firearms (at the control centre) were supposed to have been destroyed in Pretoria in terms of the smelting process.
“The possibility also exists that these weapons could have been an ‘order’ placed by criminal elements, which was not collected or paid for.
“This possibility should be investigated,” he said.
Max said this new information coincided with the recent discovery of police exhibits at a dumping site near Mitchell’s Plain.
Police records and case references were attached.
Max said these discoveries were further proof that there was no “real correlation” between the referencing systems and the actual disposal of weapons, which “opens a window of opportunity for ammunition and weapons to slip through the system”.
