A 17-year-old boy was sodomised by two men in Germiston on Wednesday and police are investigating links to three similar cases.
Police spokesperson Captain Steady Nawa said the boy from Buhle Park went to the bathroom at the Golden Walk Mall, where he was robbed of R700 and a pair of new shoes by two men armed with a gun and a knife.
“They took him out of the mall to a nearby mine dump. He was sodomised by the two men without a condom.”
“It was the same spot where another boy was raped and the same modus operandi was used.”
Nawa said police would investigate if the new case could be linked to three other cases.
On Sunday, a 14-year-old high school pupil was abducted while jogging and taken to a secluded area where he was molested.
Nawa said the boy had been jogging near the Germiston stadium when he was approached by two men at about 6.30pm on Sunday.
Shortly afterwards, four more men appeared in a white sedan and, at gunpoint, ordered the teenager into the vehicle. He was blindfolded and taken to a secluded area near the Rand Airport.
“The blindfold was taken off, he was ordered to lie down. He was told to pull down his pants and he was penetrated from behind without a condom (by one of the men),” said Nawa.
The boy then ran away and reported the incident to the police. – Sapa
