There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

[I agree completely with what Kenny says. Jan]
To grovel or hit back at criminals?
Andrew Kenny's column appears in The Citizen every Tuesday.
David Bullard, one of the best columnists in South Africa, proved himself to be a brave man when he resisted armed robbers in his house – but was he sensible?
Armed intruders broke into his house last Wednesday night where he was with his wife.
The advice we are always given is that you should not resist the robbers but submit to them, and do exactly as they say. Bullard did not follow this advice.
He resisted them and refused to do what they said. They shot him but he managed to press the panic button. The bullet went through his arm into his abdomen.
Then they ran off with his wallet, cellphone and his wife's handbag.
Suppose Bullard had followed the usual advice and submitted to the robbers. Would he have escaped without any injury at all?
Or would they have shot him dead and gang-raped his wife? Probably the latter.
So he probably did the sensible thing as well as the brave thing.
Lack of resistance might be more likely to get you killed than resistance.
My girlfriend's father was too old and frail to resist very strongly, but that did not stop him being murdered in his own house.
I doubt that the little children who get raped and killed put up much resistance.
In South Africa, all of us, except for politicians with bodyguards and high security, live in fear of violent crime, and if we are told we must always grovel in front of any criminal who accosts us, this just adds to our feeling of helplessness.
Perhaps the best thing to do when confronted with criminals is to fight them, as Bullard did.
Bullard says it is “not a matter of if but when it will happen to you”. He might be right.
I wonder how I shall behave when the moment comes. I am not brave.
Perhaps I shall end up a corpse or a cripple.
David Bullard writes with wit and insight, and is the only local columnist who makes me smile. He is sharp and critical without ever being nasty. We all look forward to his reflections on this attack.
Will some government Minister accuse him of being a whinger who should leave South Africa if he doesn't like it? Probably.
This government is known neither for its wit nor for its concern about crime.
