I heard the following on an SABC TV news report about Mbeki convening a major meeting with the top IT companies in the country to see what can be done to use Computer Technology to help develop this country faster. Mbeki apparently has been having these annual meetings with all the top IT (Computer) company boffins in SA. But after several years of them sending their CEOs to meet with Mbeki and then having Mbeki ignoring their recommendations – they now don’t attend. They send low-level regional managers to his meetings. Mark Shuttleworth is the only top notch IT guy who still attends Mbeki’s meetings. Everyone else has given up on Mbeki!!! Mbeki’s Technology meetings are now as big a flop as his stupid African Renaissance dream. Jan. |
