This is not so much about the “crime spike” as it is more about the discussion I had with a south african Indian who was telling me his perceptions regarding crime.

He was saying that many of the guys in jail find that life there is better for them than it is out on the street. They get their food, TV, comfortable bed. Why would they want to live on the outside.

Also they can get their girlfriends in on the weekends for a bit of “you know what”.

In other words. Rather that bother so much with more Jails etc make the ones they have much more unpleasant for the inmates. In other words take out the TV’s, Make the beds a little less comfortable, the food less pleasant. And no opportunities for the hanky panky with the woman.

It would be interesting to see what attitude change, if any, would arise as a consequence.

I am in complete agreement with you. The ANC has made jails so nice that criminals are not worried. Plus they know the LEGAL SYSTEM IS A JOKE!

The ANC’s real ace card, is not that the Police can’t catch the criminals, but that the ANC has made jail so nice, and jail sentences really aren’t long either.
