Well, my friend, FIFA have put both their feet, etc in this. They really messed this one up. I wonder if FIFA won’t come out of this bleeding profusely financially, seriously wounded. Maybe after 2010 we’ll hear what a mess this was, and how the S.African Govt had to plough BILLIONS into this to try and save it… and “sort of pull it off” (superficially at least)… and then we’ll hear later that FIFA took a dreadful loss… despite the ANC throwing all its resources in. That’s what I expect the final outcome to be – a fudged, superficial “success” (along with plenty of horror stories about what a mess it really was).

It is funny about the stadiums they’re building. I’m telling you, the ANC is in new territory here – its just not as bloody easy as planting a limpet mine, or stabbing someone and throwing them off a train or pouring petrol on them and setting them on fire. Its not as easy as throwing rocks through windows, rubbishing the streets and setting cars on fire. Those are the things the ANC scum are practised at. Now they actually have to BUILD SOMETHING. Bugger me! How do you do that?

I am chortling at arrogant Mbeki… He bit off far more than he could chew. I am going to enjoy watching Mbeki choke on it. Its like that old joke: “Don’t wish for something because you might just get it.” The worst thing that could happen to Mbeki and the ANC was to get what they wanted. The proposed 2010 stadium in Nelspruit is in danger of being downgraded due to a lack of funds.

Johannesburg – The proposed 2010 stadium in Nelspruit is in danger of being downgraded to a normal stadium due to a lack of funds.

The municipality is short of R97m, and the Treasury has refused to give Nelspruit any more money.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) has described the situation as desperate, saying the 30 000-seater stadium would have brought welcome tourism to the town and it is now in danger of becoming a massive white elephant for Mpumalanga.

“Time is running out, and this stadium is key to uplifting many underprivileged people in the Nelspruit area. It would mean more jobs and improved livelihoods.

“A solution must be found that ensures that the Mbombela Stadium does not lose any of its promise for the future,” said DA MP James Masango.
