[I heard about this yesterday and could not believe it. So many “high profile” whites are being murdered these days. It is wild. I suspect, more than ever, that there is some secret political campaign behind it.

It could be that certain types of “racist” whites are targetted for murder. There have been suggestions of this over the years. But that in itself it not a valid reason to murder anyone. It brings us back to this being a type of “Black Terror” campaign against whites.

Note too, in that article by the Asian reader that certain Asian S.Africans are being murdered and the press don’t pick up on that! So those communities may also suffer from the same problem as us whites… where people are killed and the press does not say enough about it. Of late though, the press seems to be doing a much better job of reporting crime against whites. Jan]

Nelspruit – A glass of red wine and food in a microwave are mute testimony to the last moments of a former South African cycling champion, who was bludgeoned to death in his house on Wednesday in an upmarket suburb here.

Etienne van Wyk, 29, was the country’s under-23 road cycling champion in 1998.

His bosom friend, Renier Pietersen asked on Wednesday: “How could they do it?”

Pietersen said he was talking to Van Wyk on the phone at about 20:00 on Tuesday.

Van Wyk said: “I must go and put the spotlights on, because the dogs are barking,” before he put down the phone.

Van Wyk, who owned a transport company, was discovered by an employee, Denise Rabie, in the dining room of his house.

Found in a pool of blood

Van Wyk’s domestic worker and gardener were suspicious when he did not open up for them on Wednesday.

Rabie investigated and found him lying on the floor. Paramedics and Netcare 911 were called in, but van Wyk was dead.

He lay face down in a pool of blood in the dining room, with his right arm folded under his body.

There was a gaping hole in the back of his head, and it appeared he had been hit with a blunt object, or a pipe.

Leander Craven, a school friend for many years, told Beeld that Van Wyk also appeared to have been strangled.

The wine and food in the microwave oven indicated that he was about to have supper when he was attacked and killed.

Revenge thought to be motive

The house was neat and nothing had been stolen.

There were drops of blood in the passage, a few metres from where his body was found, which could mean he was attacked there.

His mother, Irma van Wyk, told Beeld on Wednesday: “I feel sure it was revenge, because he fired some of his drivers on Friday.”
