S.Africa: Internet Crime: New Phishing Scam against FNB Clients

WARNING: This is Version 1 of my old archive, so Photos will NOT work and many links will NOT work. But you can find articles by searching on the Titles. There is a lot of information in this archive. Use the SEARCH BAR at the top right. Prior to December 2012; I was a pro-Christian type of Conservative. I was unaware of the mass of Jewish lies in history, especially the lies regarding WW2 and Hitler. So in here you will find pro-Jewish and pro-Israel material. I was definitely WRONG about the Boeremag and Janusz Walus. They were for real.

S.Africa: Internet Crime: New Phishing Scam against FNB Clients

[Here is the text of an internal FNB memo about a scam against its clients. Jan]

New phishing scam targeting FNB Clients 30/01

Please be aware that there is another phishing scam targeting FNB clients.

This time it has been incredibly well done, when you click on the link in the email below it goes to a site that looks identical to FNB, in fact they have duplicated the entire site.

There are only two ways that you can tell it is a scam:

URL – the following URL appears in the address line http://michi-web.de/fnb/www.fnb.htm– the URL for FNB’s website will always be https://www.fnb.co.za. You cannot have two websites with the same URL, so if you suspect anything always check the URL.

The FNB website is a secure site, hence the correct URL starts with https. There is also a little image of a padlock on the bottom right of the browser window. This fake site has neither. You should never enter any passwords or account details on websites that are not secure.
Please be aware of these small details, online criminals are getting more and more savvy. The risk division at FNB Online are looking into the matter and they will have the fake site shut down ASAP.
